Last year I picked up a little hand-pack water bottle, like this:

It doesn't hold a lot, but it is easy to carry and holds enough for a short run. Though, learn from my experience and don't put anything but water in there. I put some powerade in there during a race and it got warm and just made me ill when I drank it.
