I was in a similar position to yours. The only thing that worked for me was this: https://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-DIM-plus-Estrogen-Metabolism/dp/B00014IGXS

The only birth control that worked is called Lutera.. It's a generic brand of something I don't know what. It's really low dose so I like it

Used to use Nature’s Way.

Now I’m on to Evolved Organics.

It’s 2.5x the potency and has Dong Quai

I take 100mg of DIM a day and it has been a total game changer for my skin. I also have PCOS, which is one reason why I believe this particular supplement helps me so much.

I've had bad acne all my life. Nothing seemed to help. Randomly started taking this supplement and ALL of my acne cleared up.

Others I've recommended it to have had the same results. Not sure what it's really meant for, but heck I don't care.

I am 33 and deal with the same kind of hormonal acne. There's something about the neck acne that really bothers me more than the rest, so I get it. I have never had luck with anything and have been pretty bummed for years, however...I found a supplement this summer.

It's commonly referred to as DIM (diindolylmethane). I am not a doctor nor am I taking this under a doctor's care so I'll let you do your own research on how it works and whatnot. Long story short, this supplement is really clearing up my skin. I look better than I have in years.

I also follow a basic skincare routine as advocated on this sub but the supplement makes the most difference. I saw results in about a month. I stopped taking it for a few weeks and my skin went right back to hormonal breakouts. I started taking the supplement again and 3 weeks later my skin is practically clear. This is the one I've been using.

if you think your cortisol levels may be high (you can have them tested) you should try ashwagandha [I felt a noticeable and significant [i.e. stress level from a 10 (chronic nausea and severe nausea after anything that increased cortisol levels) to a 1] difference after 1 dose and have continued to feel the effects after 6 months of use]
If you think you could have a hormonal imbalance (as a man or woman) you could try DIM (reduces androgen levels and total estrogen levels); DIM relieves anxiety in some people going through menopause or with PMDD
