Yes. You just need a mount adapter. I got one and it works like a charm. Just screw this on the pedco and you’re good to go!

I would either keep what you have and not buy a lens, or buy the 25mm f/1.7 with the intent of selling at least one of your lenses to offset the cost.

Here are a few things I have and use:

  • short plug - traveling with the long gray cable the charger comes with is a pain. This plug will work in the US, Thailand and China.
  • peak design capture - I wear a backpack when traveling, this makes my camera always accessible.
  • travel tripod - If you want a travel tripod and aren't sure that you'll use it, this is a decent choice. If you get this and the pd capture, you'll also want an arca-swiss compatible clamp.

    Other notes:

You'll get about 3 hours of camera on-time. To get better battery life, turn off your camera when not taking pictures.

To start, try to align 2 things in a picture: the subject of the photo, and having a pleasing/interesting background. A wide aperture can help with that, but isn't required.

Try to get some practice taking pictures before you go, practice really helps.

Starting out, try shooting in RAW+JPEG.

Beyond that, have fun and take lots of pictures!

I just attached an arca plate to the top of all my tripods. I have never had any issues

This is the one I use

Vertical orientation for tripod:

I'm trying to put together a budget astrophotography kit. So far I have:

  • A6000
  • Rokinon 12mm F2
  • Mowhawk MTR-4500 : A mediocre tripod I got for free

The tripod has a panhead and a proprietary quick release plate.

I'm trying to find a way to mount my camera vertically on my tripod. People recommend using an L-bracket, but those seem to be only for arca-swiss quick release systems.

    I see three options:

  1. Get an arca-swiss clamp and attach it to the existing quick release plate. Use with a standard L-bracket.
  2. Get an arca-swiss head OR a ball head for the tripod. I'm not well-versed with tripod gear; I don't know if this tripod can swap heads.
  3. Get an L-bracket that has a 1/4" socket on the side. Does this exist? I couldn't find one for my camera.

Which would you recommend? Thanks for the help.

I have 2 black rapids straps. Both a single and a double setup. I love them and can't imagine going back to a neck strap. It does fine with an L-bracket either with the screw in thats there on the L-bracket or with the attachment that i personally prefer to use: https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-Aluminum-Screw-Compatible-Release/dp/B00KNPITI2/ref=sr_1_fkmrnull_1?keywords=Neewer+Aluminum+Screw+Knob+Clamp+Arca+Swiss+Compatible+Mini+Quick+Release+Clamp+for+QR+Plate+%2838mm%29&qid=1556923422&s=electronics&sr=1-1-fkmrnull
