Looks like a very flimsy and thin case. Would it protect the phone if it was dropped in a potentially screen shattering fall?

Fits like a glove, solid plastic, quite thick but not too thick, and has already protected it. Definitely recommend. Unfortunately, I don't have a camera to take a picture of my camera.

no i didnt have ascreen protector unfortunately... i havent broken a phone in about 7-8 years... its strange as im a welder and you would think it would happen often. alas when my insurance sorts it i will buy a tempered glass one

There are lots of TGSP on Amazon for the 6P, and they're all priced quite low too. I got the iVoler brand, but the PLESON brand was basically the same thing at the time I bought it. I have dropped my phone a few times already, and this case is a lifesaver.
You could opt for a clear case, like the Ringke Fusion (http://amzn.com/B01637DS70) or Spigen Ultra Hybrid (http://amzn.com/B016CBF3DE). I use the Ringke Fusion with a back-only skin and it works wonderfully.

Too slippery to go bareback.
Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case. Satisfies two things for me: 1) doesn't make the phone more big or bulky, 2) the back is visible so it doesn't hide the Nexus logo and the color of the phone. I really like it but my only complaint is when I want to take screenshots I would need to press the power button and the volume up button and when I press both at the same time, it only increases the volume. Not sure why it does this but on reviews, I see people cutting off the power and volume button covers and I'm assuming its because of the screenshot problem.
I do use a case. I use the spigen ultra clear. I think it's their thinnest model. I hate cases, but this phone is just too Slippery for one hand use without a case.

I bought the PRO version and it sits very close to the edge of the screen, but I haven't had a case friendly version to compare. Since the Live Case is so form fitting to the edges of the phone, however, it doesn't touch the protector.
