I generally like it overall. I agree more plants like pothos might be nice. If you don't need the storage, I might switch out that nightstand for something shorter and less plastic-y.

For black-out drapes, I do a tension rod inside the window with either the white set (HOA front of house rules) or the blackout drapes, then a "proper" curtain rod over the window with either decorative drapes or darker blackout drapes depending on location. I am a big fan of these blackout drapes which come in a bunch of colors. Obviously the darker colors block more light (I have the dark gray ones) but if you layer multiple light colors they also work really well. With your current colors, I'd do either the teals or yellow for them, and maybe even both.
