Thing | DM1 Pro S | Nixeus Revel
---|---|----
Sensor | Pixart 3360 (or 3310 on the dm1 pro) | Pixart 3360
Shape | Mostly identical to Sensei | Slightly lower profile hump compared to Sensei
Buttons | Omron 20M | Omron 20M
Weight | 85 grams | 84 grams (or +15 grams if you buy from their site and choose the extra weight)
Skates | Thickness is unknown to me, but it's the same shape of the Sensei's (+ you get spares) | Thickness is also unknown here, but the Sensei skates won't fit (revel's feet are smaller)
Cable | Red/black braided | Black rubber
Software/Drivers | Driverless | Has some beta software out
Shells | Can be matte (black) or glossy (black) | Can be matte (black) or glossy (white)
Prices | 50$ USD (+some shipping) @ dreammachines.io | 40$ USD (free prime shipping woo) @ Amazon

Alright, here are some things you might want to address if you decide to buy one of these:
Main Clicks
Mouse1 and Mouse2 on the DM1 Pro S are known to have quality control issues in regards to the shell, which causes one or both switches to be stiffer/have more "squish" and travel than the other. For me, I got mine with the Mouse1 squishy. You're prompted with two decisions: RMA it (shipping fee is not paid for unfortunately) or open it up and do a fix on it (xtenglong of Overclock.net's fix, works on DM1 Pro S as well). The fix worked alright for me, but I ended up having to use the spare feet. The Nixeus Revel is also known to have these issues, but on a much smaller scale
tl;dr nixeus revel > dm1 pro s for button tolerance quality control
Side Buttons
Buttons for both mice are only on the left side, making it a right hander's mouse. DM1 Pro S' buttons are bigger and are glossy, while the Nixeus Revel has thinner buttons that are probably textured/smooth plastic. The Revel has it's buttons closer to the back of the mouse as well. Travel on DM1 Pro S for it is larger than expected, but not unbearable. Cannot say anything for the Revel since I don't have one.
Cable Strain Relief
DM1 Pro S has an issue that has the cable dipping down from the cable's strain relief. Nixeus Revel users are probably less prone to this (lighter cable + the rubber nib is a bit pushed up so it doesn't go directly down). Fixed my personal DM1 Pro S' strain relief by cutting part of it away.
LED
DM1 Pro S has a visible led inside, while powered. Everything is lit up, but there is a distinctly more bright source. Nixeus Revel gets away with this by having a smaller, but a more even illumination of the logo (and a thinner strip of light at the bottom). Might be wrong about the Revel, but the DM1 Pro S' led is visible.
overall tl;dr:
you're probably safer with the nixeus revel, but if you're willing to take a small gamble/deal with some minor issues, the dm1 pro s has a "truer" shape to the sensei

This particular mouse is pointed out due to its relation to the venerable MLT04 mice released in the early 00s. The Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1, Intellimouse Optical 1.1, and Intellimouse Explorer 3.0. They were very popular among Quake and Counter-Strike players. Their capabilities are dwarfed by mice with modern performance oriented sensors, PMW3360 derivatives most prominently, but they still remain in use by a few professional players and many casuals.

To answer the question more directly: Nothing. A proper sensor, firmware and lens combo will have minimal angle snapping, a low lift-off distance, no acceleration, and a high malfunction speed. The Classic Intellimouse here unfortunately does not meet these requirements, though it does retain a much beloved shape. If you want to check all the marks, consider a Nixeus Revel for $2 less.

Dream Machine DM1

Nixeus Revel

Cougar 450M

Personally, I prefer Cougar because it has 2 buttons on both sides like the Sensei.

Nixeus Revel is a medium-large mouse that is on sale rn on Amazon for $23

u/Hadooouken · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

What grip do you use? Im concerned about the height of the Revel since I'd not want to rest my palm on it. Also I guess I would get the rubberized version because I get sweaty hands when I play and that version is almost 50€ with delivery fees Nixeus Revel :S Not sure if that would be my best bet in that price range

I also own one. It's like the G402 body, albeit with better buttons, way better mouse wheel (metalic that you can set it to not have any resistance) and is heavier.

But G403 and 502 use the same sensor (3366) and at this point in time, the g502 sells for $80+, which is too much.

Other choices: SteelSeries Rival 310, DeathAdder elite is better (though I dislike razer products).

If you want a very good $25 mouse, here you go
and review

My friend bought a Revel from massdrop and the import costs for EU were 35+ euros making the mouse almost 80 euros total, if you really want a Revel in EU check out amazon , only problem is that they dont ship to every EU country (not to The Netherlands for me)

The Fenek standard has a similar shape/config with the addition of thumb buttons and a sniper button. It is a bit pricey relative to similar mice, but it is in the neighborhood for what you seem to be after and it's a small company that I think more folks should know about.

The first mouse that came to mind is the Nixeus Revel. It is a proper jump to the modern with a perfect sensor, safe shape and a very nice price tag for what you get.

Nixeus Revel is a good budget gaming mouse with PMW 3360 sensor and Omron switches, available on Amazon for $26- https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-Revel-Gaming-Windows-Rubberized/dp/B01HHGHCH8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1536861150&sr=8-2&keywords=nixeus+revel

I'm enjoying the Nixeus Revel. It uses the best sensor currently on the market (3360), and is a super lightweight, no frills mouse. Enthusiast hardware for a reasonable price. You can catch them on sale for ~$30 or so.

u/kashmoney55 · 1 pointr/G502MasterRace

I felt the same exact way! For me, the mouse is too heavy, and uncomfortable to use for extended amounts of time. Always felt frustrated with it. Tried changing grip styles to no avail.

I just ordered the Nixeis Revel. It arrives today, I'll let you know how it is.

If you can stretch it, a [Nixeus Revel] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HHGHCH8/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1523912902&sr=8-7&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=logitech+g102&dpPl=1&dpID=41EGpPYlhzL&ref=plSrch) is a decent option, it will have a vastly better sensor compared to the super cheap ones, and is just a generic Sensei shape with mediocre/decentish build quality.

u/pdb1975 · 1 pointr/buildapc

My current gaming mouse is a Nixeus Revel. I wanted a super low friction mouse with an excellent sensor for not a lot of money without a lot of gimmicky crap. It fits the bill. I got mine for $30ish on a warehouse deal, not sure if I would've paid $45 for one. My only complaint is that it feels a little lightweight and I would prefer it was more sized like a Logitech 510.

Games: League of Legends, Not FPS games

Hand Preference: Right or Ambi

Budget: Thinking the most expensive I would go is a deathadder

Hand Size: 18

Grip: Palm

Weight: No Preference

Sensitivity: High

Additional Details: Kinda narrowed it down to the nixeus revel or a deathadder just based on a little research and I would like to know what you guys think.

https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-Revel-Gaming-Mouse-Windows/dp/B01HHGHCH8

I am leaning towards the deathadder just due the popularity of it, so it's obviously tried and true. I would like to know what you guys think in respect to is it worth the cost. I also don't know what the difference is between these two deathadders, if someone could clarify that would be great. Are there different types like non chroma and chroma?

I second these. As far as budget starter gear goes, this is a great start. Might want to go with the basic black one to save a few extra dollars too.

u/Protracturtle · 1 pointr/Competitiveoverwatch

Nixeus Revel is 44.99 on Amazon Canada right now. Top tier 3360 sensor, good safe shape, light, and pretty decent quality. The black is rubberized black. The white is glossy white. I own both and prefer the black. Download the alpha software they have out right now customize the dpi steps etc. It'll update the firmware too.

Here's a review from Rocket Jump Ninja.

u/b20vteg · 1 pointr/MouseReview

games: none - mainly for web browsing

hand preference: right

budget: $40usd

hand size: 18cm

grip: palm? anything else tires out my wrist for some reason - is that weird?

weight: medium to heavy

sensitivity: low

additional details: i really like my m510 wireless, so i'd prefer something that size, but wired. not a fan of the transformers look a lot of new "gaming" mice have - the simpler the design the better, but would prefer the forward and back buttons on the side. also, i just got an rgb mechanical keyboard, so an rgb mouse is required.

looking forward to some recommendations - thanks r/mousereview!

*edit: ended up ordering the nixeus revel from amazon. thanks guys!

pair it with something like a Logitech G640 or QCK+ and you should be good to go

Is it this one? As it's little more than my budget.. i can still get it ! But is it good?

u/mike1487 · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Nixeus Revel - it has the PMW3360, one of the best optical sensors that many competing mice sport at much higher prices. Can't go wrong with this one.

u/KrustyKrab223 · 1 pointr/buildapc

It's alright, but it's nothing more than a basic rebranded chinese OEM mouse.

I'd get the Nixeus Revel for a bit more. It has a perfect sensor (no acceleration etc. - Pixart PWM3360), it's really light and quite cheap for what it is. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01HHGHCH8/

u/unguided_deepness · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Hi Peter, thank you for the clarification. I notice that the model number for the black Revel on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Nixeus-Revel-Gaming-Windows-Rubberized/dp/B01HHGHCH8) is still REV-BK16. Is this information out of date, should the newest revision black Revel be REV-BK17?

u/BlameNuggie · 1 pointr/MouseReview

Hello

I need to get a new mouse but I only have $30 USD but I don't know what to get these are the mice I have narrowed it down to M1, M2, M3, M4. The mice I have used in the past have been G502 (nice shape but too heavy) G203 (I liked the shape pretty well) Mionix Castor (My favorite mouse so far love the shape) MM531 (I hate this mouse it's too low and long) thanks for the help.

Games: Far Cry 5, Metro Exodus, DOS 2, Kenshi, CS:GO, Overwatch.

Hand Preference: Right-handed.

Hand Size: 17.78 x 8.89 cm

Grip: I hold my mouse exactly like this I have seen people call it palm/fingertip hybrid as well as relaxed claw so I don't know.

Weight: I don't really have a preference but nothing over 105 grams.

Sensitivity: Depends on what game I'm playing and what I'm doing but I usually use 1600.

Connectivity: Wired.
