If that's what you're after, might save you some money picking up an R.Attack for $30-50 depending where you get it. It does everything from that to straight up treble fuzz. Not a lot of noise on mine, but as cheap as they are, they probably vary from unit to unit.
Little Bear R.Attack. It sounds more Rat like than an actual Rat. Clones the Vintage, Turbo and Dirty circuits. Goes from overdrive, to distortion, to fuzz.

3 rats in one box for $50. One is classic rat, another is more muff ish. You can find them cheaper on eBay at times. It's the sound you're probably thinking of in your head if you're after AC15 rock.

I use an older DOD icebox chorus, but it's not so frequently on my pedal board. I've stopped using other modulation effects.
I don't recommend a multi effects unit, they sound kind of canned after the initial fun wears off (... I have a few).
But this little behringer multi-distortion DM100 quite a lot of use in my studio. It will also allow you to try some different sounds before buying a nicer distortion.
