Sorry for the delay, weekend and all that. Here are a couple options for you.
Numark Mixtrack Pro is a very common starter controller. Behringer, while not exactly known for quality, especially in their DJ gear, seems to be decent with their CMD line. Your cheapest option would be to get something like the PL-1. It is essentially one side of a regular controller, and no mixer controls. This is still a viable option though, while a bit of a hassle. Essentially you flip back and forth between which channel the device is controlling. So not exactly ideal from a workflow perspective, but you might consider it due to budget. You can expand later.
Unless your software can select two different soundcards then yes you are hosed.
Return it immediately! If you can return your m-audio and sell your mixtrack for a mixtrack pro (with included audio interface) you'll be much better off. Failing that you should return the M-Audio for a NI Traktor Audio 2 which has all the interfaces you need and is cheaper at $100 than what you paid for your m-audio.
Honestly I don't see why anyone would buy the mixtrack instead of the pro, it's just a product waiting to fail as it did for you without a good way to CUE.
Yes, they vary in price, but you're looking at anywhere from $200 to $500 for a beginner controller, and you can get them at music shops or Amazon. DJing isn't a cheap hobby.

For my first controller I bought the Numark Mixtrack Pro 2 and for a beginner controller it's easily my favorite, very simple to use yet it has all the functions necessary to make good mixes. Works well with serato DJ intro and traktor's DJ program. Easy hookup so whether you are DJing in your room or in a club the hookup will be easy.
With USB gear you're probably better off if you can save up and buy new.

If you go with the pro it comes with an audio interface so you don't need the one he's including. You'll still have to buy speakers, but you don't need to get expensive monitors.
Great suggestions man but they are out of my budget right now :/ Im looking for a controller that costs from $100 to $200. Im not going to go professional or anything right now I just wanna have some fun mixing at hom or at some parties with friends! Still thats some god info you just gave me. I'm definitely looking forward to buying the s4 though, looks orgasmic. Very late to this, but I am literally in the VERY beginning stages of wanting to do this as a hobby. I've always felt I had a decent ear for music, and constructing playlists, but I figured I could have more freedom as far as creativity is concerned by learning to dj. Eventually would love to learn to produce my own beats, but definitely want to spend a while learning how to mix, and getting familiar with beat matching, etc. I know it's a super long road, but this was truly inspiring to read! I've been in desperate need of a hobby/passion that I can actually look forward to getting into after I leave my desk job and after lurking on this sub all through college, I feel that I should have started this like...yesterday. I probably will never open up for a big artist, but would love to play to groups of friends when I'm on vacation, and post mixes. Would love to hear what your future plans are, and do you eventually plan on getting into a software like Abelton with a super steep learning curve, but tons of freedom. Any equipment/accessories that I should look into, or should I be good with just this and my laptop to start? Excited to finally get into this and eventually share some mixes with my friends.
