Pan's Labyrinth (that's a fan trailer, but it's better than anything else I've seen and doesn't give away, partially or fully, the damn ending)

It's a beautiful, though brutal, fairy tale - a mix of a thin thread of fantasy with a cruel and uncontrollable reality from the POV of a child. This is not a 'safe' fairy tale - even the smallest of mistakes can result in pain, horror, and death - for the hero of the story or for someone else - and mistakes are made. There is plenty of pain, horror and death in this movie, both as a result and independently of her mistakes. I make it sound scary and not at all fairytale-like, but that's the beauty of the story - how a small, utterly defenseless child survives in a world that will kill her without a thought if it decides she is an irritation. The ending is crafted to be wide open - it is your decision whether it is a happy ending or a sad ending. Even the music is crafted to wake your imagination.

I don't have a $5 item, but a giftcard would make it easy for me to pick up the rest for these mice so my cat has more to drag around the house, leave in places where I'll step on them, and jump onto my chest at 3 in the morning and spit one into my face as a clear indication that it is playtime now.

You have lots of opinions on $5 gifts vs. $20 so I'll remain neutral, they both have their good points. :)
