I'm not a lady, but if I was, this is what I would use.
I've been looking for bags to carry all of my diabetes crap around lately, and came across this one. I kinda want to get it for me anyways and tell everyone it's just my man-purse. :|
I got 3 skeins of grey with like speckles to make a bag like this (hoping to recreate at least) but felt it so it looks textured https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0076D0MYI/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=3MRYD7QXCZ5PU&coliid=I13XETCTBO3NN8&psc=1
and then on /r/crochet someone asked for pattern testers so Im making this sweater http://imgur.com/a/3byWs This is my first clothing item so Im nervous and excited, but holy fuck its beautiful!
SO I think I've outgrown the leather backpack purse i have had for so long. I need a purse that will hold all my gadgets, preferably in separate pockets. I want it in dark grey or cream, something somewhat neutral. I actually rather like my little backpack but it's starting to fall apart because I've had it for years and it does look somewhat childish. I work in an office and while it's business casual, a nicer bag might not go amiss.
It has to fit at least:
LG Optimus G Pro (Phone, a bit larger than a Samsung Galaxy or iPhone 6S)
Nexus 7 (no case)
Battery back up (about the same size as the phone)
Mobile wireless storage device (About the size of a deck of cards)
Wallet (about the same size as the storage device)
Misc Sundry items (small set of keys, maybe some lip balm, little bottle of Kahlua for those long days at work)
------------------------------
I want to eventually get a Nexus 9 but that may be too much to ask from a purse.
SO, what have you tried? What's good. I like quality. I don't want something that will fall apart.
Padding isn't a huge issue. I am very, very careful with my technology. I got my phone right after it was released and I've dropped it all of two times, and never more than 2.5 foot (off a desk). Same with my tablet. I dropped it once really bad since I got it over a year ago. I baby my stuff.
I rather like the look of this but I am not sure it's large enough... on the other hand I Could get a lot of different colors in the same style if I went with this.
Every couple of years I think about buying one, but then I just continue to use the OGIO Brooklyn I have because it's pretty perfect for a travel purse.
It's cross body, the top zips up, two main compartments for organization, there's an internal zippered phone/tablet/e-reader pocket with it's own zipper, and there's a another fully zippered internal pocket. I like the buttons on the front, it's $40, and I don't worry about it getting rained or snowed on. I think I found it from a really old post here, actually!
A little late to the game but my favorite bag (for travel and everyday) is the Ogio Brooklyn bag.

I’ve had this bag (in black) for over three years and have taken it on multiple international trips (India, Europe, New Zealand) and use it at home and it’s still in great shape. I usually carry it as my personal item (in addition to my one bag) but it packs down easily into a onebag if you wanted to.
I call this bag my “Magic bag”because it seems to hold just about anything I want it to and not look overfilled. All at one time i have carried a water bottle, iPad (or a small laptop), Nintendo switch in its case, iPhone, charging cables, pen, wallet, snack, and possibly a light sweater or umbrella depending on their size.
I also like that it is fashionably versatile -can easily be taken on a hike or to a restaurant as is.
