Skin type: combination, acne-prone, sensitive, eczema-prone on the eyelids

Olay Regenerist Night Recovery Cream, Fragrance Free

Ingredients: Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Polyacrylamide, Polyethylene, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4, Allantoin, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Sodium Peg-7 Olive Oil Carboxylate, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Titanium Dioxide, Dmdm Hydantoin, Laureth-4, Dimethiconol, Laureth-7, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Disodium Edta, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate

This moisturizer was a welcome surprise! It's velvety and creamy; I daydream and look forward to smoothing it over my face like a protective blanket at night. It helps prevent the peeling that comes with Tretinoin (I currently use Curology). I really like that it does not have fatty alcohols like cetyl or cetearyl alcohol because those tend to give me closed comedones and sting my skin. It also does not contain mineral oil or petrolatum, which tend to give me milia. However, my picky skin does not seem to mind silicones, which this moisturizer includes in its ingredients. For others, this may be a problem. I generally do not purchase jar moisturizers because I prefer pumps. I like the portion control with pumps. However, I am willing to break my own rules every once in a while. If anyone has recommendations on how to portion out moisturizer in a jar, I would love to know.

It lasted me the entire month of January and have repurchased. It's a little on the expensive side for me, but coupons help.

Hi all,

My scalp/face feels like it's on fire and this is so overwhelming I'd really appreciate anyone to take the time to read below and help out!

Let me start by saying I've read all the top posts in this subreddit as well as the simpleskincarescience knowledgbase on malassezia.

Background:
Have had dandruff my whole life which I've kept at bay with 2-3 sessions / week of selsun blue max strength. Have dry/flaky facial skin (in theory) but I have had absolutely perfect skin (that used to get complimented) by using a cream after showers that I'm now told is quite terrible and the ingredients recently changed so no longer works: https://www.amazon.com/Olay-Regenerist-Night-Recovery-Moisturizer/dp/B01M4R7CC5/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1504856200&sr=8-1&keywords=olay+night+regenerist+night+recovery+cream

On to my questions:

  1. I have dry/sensitive facial skin, and red/flaky around the nose and in eyebrows. 31y/o, very active and healthy - saw a dermatologist yesterday and he said I have seb derm and gave me:
Nizoral shampoo daily to scalp and face
Nizoral cream at night to face
Hydrocortisone 2.5% lotion in morning to face

After reading the simpleskincarescience knowledge-base I couldn't find anything on Hydrocortisone so how do you guys feel about using that in the AM temporary until this clears?

I will use the nizoral cream daily at night after showering, and use the shampoo twice per week. Not sure how long to keep this up for but was thinking 3-4 weeks and then storing all the products away and using the GoW products below item #4. Also not sure if I can incorporate any of the GOW products into the dermatologist's products.

  2. So current morning routine would be washing with cold water -> hydro cream

  3. Night R: nizoral shampoo > nizoral cream > sometimes aquaphor on just the super red areas
Quick Q: what shampoo/condtioner do you recommend for the other 5days/week for someone concerned with balding/thinning?

Before going to the derm, I rush ordered/paid for fastest shipping on some GoW products which I read about on Reddit and then consulted GoW about, I ended up with the below products and am not sure how you all would recommend implementing them into my routine/system as this is what my main question is about!

For face, in order of GoW's recommended routine:

    1. GoW .. New!! Soothing Gel Cleanser (4 oz White Bottle W/Flip Top)

    2. GoW Yarrow Blossom Healing and Hydrating Mist (4 oz PET W/Spritzer)

    3. GoW Banana Healing Serum (1 oz Black PET w/Black Pump)

    4. Hemp Seed Oil (1 ounce Glass Bottle w/Dropper) -> as my moisturizer

      For scalp:

    5. GoW Locks of Lovely Shampoo (8 oz HDPE White Bottle w/Flip Top)

    6. GoW Soothe Your Scalp Serum (1 ounce White (round) Bottle w/Yorker Spout Cap)

      Thank you all!
