I thought "On Speed" was a good read. https://www.amazon.com/Speed-Benzedrine-Adderall-Nicolas-Rasmussen/dp/0814776396/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1487033664&sr=8-2&keywords=on+speed
Also, it doesn't get much better than "The Immortal Life Of Henrietta Lacks" https://www.amazon.com/Immortal-Life-Henrietta-Lacks/dp/1400052181/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487033763&sr=8-1&keywords=the+secret+life+of+henrietta+lacks
It's really complicated, impossible to summarise, really depends on all kinds of variables - frequency of use, and dosage being the most important. It's crazy but I was quite disciplined and never used too much, still I went through all kinds of psychological stuff. Amphetamine is not to be taken lightly! The best book I can recommend on the topic is On Speed - the many lives of Amphetamine. https://www.amazon.com/Speed-Many-Lives-Amphetamine/dp/0814776396
The biggest difference between meth and Adderall is how they're sold and marketed. Users can't tell the difference. Most meth-users prefer pharmaceutical grade Adderall to the shit people were making in their basements.
If you want to read more i highly recommend On Speed by Nicolas Rasmussen. He goes into its military use in WW2, where entire armies (and countries) were popping these things like candy.
