It's really just for casual movie use... I don't really like the look of a big TV dominating my tiny living room.

Bought the Optoma ML750 just now and will see how it goes. If it sucks I'll return it.

IDK how bright it'll be in there but I'd probably recommend something along the lines of a used Optoma ML750 for $305 on Amazon. Very lightweight and portable. It's native resolution is 1280x800. Since the Optoma ML750 is LED based, it doesn't use normal bulbs like the much bigger 1080p projectors. So, it should last for 20,000 hours before it's just completely done similar to that of a TV.
