I injured my lower back (bulged disc, going to PT and slowly getting better) back in October. After a week of extreme pain driving to and from work (I still had my '01 OBS then), I got a seat wedge and a McKenzie roll. Between that and re-adjusting the steering wheel, I went from being in really bad pain after 20 minutes to very little pain. In my Crosstrek with the wedge and roll in place I am able to do a three hour trip with no problem. It works great when I'm driving my wife's Sienna for family trips, too.

I'll also note that I have broad shoulders and find the Crosstrek much more comfortable around the shoulders than other cars I ride in regularly.

Yes, it can be very intense and stressful at times, especially depending on the type of work you cover. You can minimize that by figuring out what types of assignments are a good fit for you. If you encounter people that you don't enjoy working with, you can choose not to work with them again. It's a very rewarding job and you're always learning. I would suggest bringing along a back cushion to your jobs to modify your chair. I like the McKenzie roll: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000H47GCO/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_3FZ7CbXYPW704. I hope this becomes a career path for you. Good luck!

If you have scoliosis you should be talking to your doctor. Something else you can do is correct your posture when you sit, see if that helps. Get a lumbar roll, put your butt against the back of the seat and sit up straight. Obviously, search the internet about what you should look like sitting with proper posture. Definitely get x-rays and an MRI.
