I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on Chippewa Service Boots in Cordovan. My only hesitation is wearing them with chinos. Will they look odd paired with light or dark tan chinos? I think the colors will be ok, but what about the look? Also how will these go with charcoal or black jeans?

I just bought these:

I like their looks more than the beckman (color, sole, 360 welt, silhouette). I get tons of compliments on them everytime I wear them. These boots you linked look like the same boot with a different sole. I say go for it.

I'm not a fan really of Timberlands at all, they're just really clunky looking to me. Check something like these out! But then again it's just my own preference.

Thanks! They're the J Crew Cordovan Chippewas, I bought them about two years ago. I don't think they're available from J Crew anymore but I think these are essentially the same sans speed hooks

How versatile is cordovan? I'm looking at the Chippewa service boots (below) and I'm wondering how easy it would be to incorporate the cordovan color into, well, any casual outfit. I only want to buy one pair of boots, so I'm looking for something that will go with jeans, olive chinos and tan chinos. I don't like Iron Rangers, but if anyone has another suggestion in the sub-300 price range, hit me.

Tried looking up the Chippewa Smiths and couldn't find much info on them, are these like the discount version of their Service Utility boot?

Well, I've got my 899's, and I'm looking for something a little less heavy. My primary concern is that I need a secondary boot that I can commute public transit in NYC in the dead of winter so my 899's don't rot. That's why I was considering the Mad Boots at that price.

Budget, I would characterize $250 as a manageable kick in the nuts. This winter has been rough on the budget since I owned nothing but very manly sundresses before I moved here.

Style-wise, something mildly different from my 899's. I could go with Moc-toe, or toe cap, or something sleeker. Unfortunately, I have big wide stupid feet, so I will settle for stylish clown shoes.

Thanks for any guidance you can offer!

Hi, so like the title mentions, there is this "crack" along with small holes near the side of the sole of the boot and I was wondering if it could cause the boo to break in the future. This is a Chippewa 6" boot that I recently bought on Amazon prime day for around 140 dollars:

Will this issue be bad enough to justify returning the boot ?

Thanks for the help.
