A ton of gender bending occurs in the Bible. Deborah was a military leader (and Jael helped win a decisive victory). When Ruth and Naomi lose their husbands and the latter her sons, they become son and husband to each other, being caregiver, provide, matchmaker — all masculine roles. Paul compares his role as apostle to that of a mother. Paul even losing his sight would've been considered a femenizing event. Not to mention he said there’s no “male and female” in Christ. You know Joseph’s coat of many colors? That Hebrew term is only used one elsewhere in the Bible — and in reference to a princess dress.

Moreover, we have a God who's called "Father" who also births the universe (Job 38) and who births and nurses Israel (Deuteronomy and Isaiah). The term el shaddai connotes God‘s breasts, and the Council of Toledo affirmed we are birthed from God’s “womb.”

When you look at the whole of Scripture instead of just one verse out of context, you get a quite different picture.
