DBT is a very good therapy option. I've been in a DBT group with my primary therapist for well over a year now. The discussions and material covered are so helpful. I would definitely look into doing DBT in a group setting as it makes the ideas so much easier to grasp via the experiences of others. It does take time and practice for the methods to work, patience is key. Hope all this info helps!

There's a workbook called "Out of Control" that focuses on ALL the things. It's very in depth, kinda cluttered, but it really does delve deep.

It covers CBT, DBT, Trauma-focused, ACT, all the therapies lol.

I read your story OP, and I guess I'll mostly echo what others have already said. It sounds like you had a very tough life. I've never had to deal with half the stuff you've dealt with and I was hospitalized for depression and suicidality last year. Now I'm starting to rebuild my life and even though I know I have so much to be thankful for, some days it seems so hard. However, I don't want to quit and you shouldn't either. Can your family help you? Is your grandmother still around? What about your brothers? If there is anything I can do for you, please feel free to PM me. When I was at a low point, a therapist gave me a workbook that really helped me out called "Out of Control," by Melanie Gordon Sheets. You can find it on Amazon. If you can't afford it, I'd be happy to send you a copy.

Please believe me that you are valuable. You are important. None of us is worth nothing. You can get through this. It will not be easy, but it will be worth it. Do you have a safe place? Do you have a support system? Do you have someone that you can be vulnerable with?

I've never met you, but I've been in low places. I know that it sucks. I mean it when I say that I am willing to do whatever I can for you. Before I was in the hospital, I didn't know anything about mental health care, and I would have written people who suffered with mental disorders off as losers. I had no compassion for people who I perceived as "weak." I know now that I was wrong. I cannot judge someone for their response to things that I have never had to go through. All I can do is love them and be there for them as I am able. This has been a bit rambly, so I guess I'll wrap it up. Please take care of yourself. Do whatever you can to beat this.
