$40 with this deal was well, for me on PC.

How to contact an Amazon rep & have the additional Prime 20% off applied to your purchase.
-

I was able to speak with a rep via Amazon Chat & have the additional Prime 20% applied to my purchase bringing the game before tax down to ~$40. Boxed Copy PC Overwatch Origins Edition.

While I & many others were successful on our first attempt still other people required multiple rep chats some even going as far as calling support.

How to contact an Amazon rep via chat: Visit this link & select these options, at the bottom on the right click "chat".

My chat transcript in image & text:

> Initial Question: The Prime pricing on Overwatch - Origins (http://www.amazon.com/Overwatch-Origins-PC/dp/B017L187YG) is incorrect & my purchase appears to be overcharged. The list price is $48.99, the Prime price should be $39.20, but is instead listed at $47.99.

EDIT: And some other users regarding the Collectors Edition:

Someone in this thread mentioned they paid $75 for the CE after talking with a rep, so yes.

I'll scan through again & see if I can find them.

Here's is one conversation re: the CE, seems some were not as successful with support.

Here's one user who was successful:
> i preordered the CE back in april and when the price dropped yesterday my order was automatically adjusted to 94.99. i had to bug support to get them to apply my 20% prime discount though, bringing it to 75.99 + tax.

And another here:

> I did something similar. My CE shipped before the price drop so I had to bug Amazon customer service today to give me the CE for $95 minus the 20% for Prime discount. The customer service rep did not seem all that thrilled about giving me the $120 CE for $75.

This is the lowest I've seen origins edition go. It'd be awesome to see amazon price match.

Edit: you can help by reporting "tell us about a lower price" in the right side of the "Product Information" section of the Amazon page.

Looks like its part of the Free Weekend they're doing, the same deal has showed up on Gamestop and Amazon at the same time. I would be surprised if it wasn't lowered on Battle.net as well when the Free Weekend starts later this morning

$40 on amazon

u/milkonym · 6 pointsr/pcgaming

Yes it is.
Amazon Link

Usually when a game offers early access with pre-orders, I pre-order on Amazon and then cancel as soon as I get the beta key. That way you get to try it out but you're not locked in to buying it.

u/IcedKappaccino · 4 pointsr/Overwatch

Would this deal be available in Canada? I'm not seeing it on amazon.ca

u/MaresDoOrgasm · 3 pointsr/Blizzard
u/solariszero · 3 pointsr/Overwatch

It's currently listed for $39.96 here from Amazon.

u/thebabaghanoush · 3 pointsr/Overwatch

Link.

There's a blurb about the discount on that page, but it doesn't get taken into account until you're on the actual order confirmation page. Add it to your cart and go to the checkout page just to verify.

u/nitrical · 3 pointsr/GameDeals

Just to add my experience, on my first try, the rep agreed to honor the 20% discount. The caveat is that I had to place my order at $47.99 price, and they would refund the correct discount in the next 1-2 business days (the rep said either the Marketing/Promo team would do it, or the agent herself would do it). I have full confidence they'll honor the agreement.

If it helps other people, I did the following through chat:

Ticket Detail: "I'm looking for help about Prime pricing on Overwatch - Origins (http://www.amazon.com/Overwatch-Origins-PC/dp/B017L187YG). The list price is $48.99, the Prime price should be $39.20, but is instead listed at $47.99."

Transcript:

>> Agent: Hello, my name is Agent. I'm here to help you today.

>> Me: Hi

>> Agent: Hello, I'm so sorry for the incorrect price show and let me check into this and see what I can do to help.

>> Me: Ok, thanks!

>> Agent: You are most welcome. One moment as I check.

>> Thanks for waiting.

>> May I know if you were referring to the 20% discount that will be applied on pre order items?

>> Me: Yes, the 20% discount that Prime members can get by pre-ordering games.

>>Agent: May I know if you already proceed to check out and and see if 20% discount was applied or it does not show up?

>>Me: When I add it to my card and get to the final page where I can place the order, this item appears: "Prime Savings: -$1.00"
with subtotal as: "Total before tax: $47.99"

>>tax $2.88

>>final price is $50.87

>>obviously $1.00 is far less than 20% of $48.99 ;)

>>Agent: I completely understand and let me check into this and see what I can do to help.

>>Me: Ok, thanks, I appreciate it. I'm looking to buy it with my Prime membership that I otherwise enjoy, but sadly it's not working quite right here.

>>Agent: Thanks for waiting.

>>So sorry if incorrect amount was applied and here is what I can do to help.

>>Please place the order and I will forward this issue to our Marketing and Promotions Team to correct the discount needs to apply on the order and they will respond within 1-2 business days and if our Marketing and Promotions Team will not able to assist you no need to worry I am here to back you up and I will refund 20% discount if Marketing team will not able to help.

>>Me: Ok, so to be clear, somebody at Amazon will refund the correct 20% (be it you, or Marketing & Promotions) at some point in the next 1-2 business days after I place my order, correct?

>>Agent: Yes that is right and may I know if this would be fine for you?

Edit: In case anyone happens across this, spoke to a rep the next day and they're refunding the difference (about $10.00). No problems at all getting Amazon to honor the correct pricing.

If anyone is looking for a good deal on a last-minute preorder, Amazon has the Origins edition for $49 ($48 for Prime members).

u/TheTsel · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Overwatch Origins Edition is currently $39.99 on Amazon right now, which is the same price as the standard edition on Battle.net. You'll get some extra skins and it's a physical copy.

u/HelenCel · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

You can get a Visa gift card from pretty much any retail store, but depending on the store it can be difficult to buy if you're under 18 (can be used for money laundering, so lots of places ID). It also usually has a ~$3 activation fee. You can also try finding a Battlenet gift card, or even an Amazon gift card, which you can use to get Overwatch origins.

u/Mastershroom · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Origins Edition has been $20 off for a few days for all platforms.

u/CochMaestro · 2 pointsr/Games

> It goes both ways... Console users et to pay $60 for Overwatch while you guys pay $40.

I know it might have been on sale while you saw it...but this seems to be a bit different from what you're saying

u/PrimalZed · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Yes there are. Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop from a few quick searches.

Also, this announcement isn't PC-only, it's all copies of the game.

u/drmoonmanphd · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Because your in Indonesia this advice might not apply too you, but I'll share it just in case.

If you have amazon prime you can get Overwatch Origin for $47.99. So it's only $8 more than if the basic version. For $8 you can't beat all the extras.

Amazon Prime: Overwatch Origin

If you can't do that. I don't think paying $20 more, for in your case, just one skin would be worth it to get Origin. So just go with basic.

Normally I wait for a price drop on games, but this is the first game in a long time I just went ahead and bought it. It takes a really long time before you see price drops on Blizzard stuff. And the amount of fun I think I'll get from this game is well worth the cost.

Hope that helps!

u/Delumine · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

You can order the origins edition off Amazon w/20% Off, just create a trial account and order it.

u/xWeez · 2 pointsr/xboxone

To everyone salty about the $40 on PC price tag:

It's only $40 on BLIZZARD'S OWN STORE. Everywhere else it's $60. This is because no one else is taking a cut of the sale when it's sold on Blizzard's own store.

If people want to be mad about it, be mad at Sony/Microsoft/Amazon for taking such a MASSIVE cut of every sale. BTW, the cut is likely more than $20.

Not trying to bash Nuuvem or anything but there was a post a few days ago with Overwatch: Origins for $40 at amazon

u/dougmc · 1 pointr/GameDealsMeta

Are these console games or PC games?

A lot of people don't keep the box when they buy a physical PC game -- they throw it away and just keep the disc and any key. Console owners do that too, but less often since the cases are good for storing the discs in.

A bigger problem with the PC games is the "disc only, no key" sales that I see on Amazon that are selling for close to full price -- in that case, in 2016 you generally end up with a game that you cannot play.

For example, these used copies of Overwatch -- they talk about how it's in like new condition, but a used copy of a modern Blizzard game is next to useless because the key is the only thing that has any value -- the disc is useless, even the original purchaser doesn't need it. Yet they sell it at almost full price, looking for suckers.

The base game is $40 normally and Origins Edition is $60 normally. If you are in Bestbuy's GCU then you get an additional 20% off for a total of $27.99.

The following are other retailers who Offer Overwatch:Origins Edition for $35. The base game is not on sale so Origins Edition is the cheapest version.

Amazon (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

GameStop (PS4)

I would like Overwatch

I first played this game on the open beta and instantly fell in love with it, I had never played a fps game before and also wasn't fond of games with WASD movements because of bad experiences when I was younger.

This game blew my mind, the maps, the heroes, the abilities, everything was so beautiful and fun. On the open beta I had the most playtime as Pharah, I loved flying above the battlefield.

Last weekend we had the Free Weekend, I played nothing but Overwatch trough the whole Free duration, loved the new hero Sombra and discovered my new favorite D.Va. The Arcade Mode is also really fun, had a lot of cool matches on the Mistery Duel map and the random heroes mode.

I can easily say this is the best game I've ever played in my whole life.

Sadly I can't afford this game, I don't know how the price looks like from an american perspective but I'm from Brazil and it costs 160 Reais here and that's a LOT.

Amazon Link for the game (comes with a digital code) : Overwatch $ 34,99

> A whole FULLY LOADED campaign with the same length as WoL and HoTS.

>same length as HoTS

You know, an expansion.

>Since when it same engine and specs required of a new game? O.o

Um, that's how blizzard does it. New game = new engine. It's the big reason why Blizzard is so expansion heavy. They just expand their current game.

>Literally just googled and there were options for 18% discounts in places.

Oh you mean graymarket places where you're not guaranteed to actually get the product even though they say you are? Where it's possible to lose your account if Blizzard deems the key you received as stolen?

>This just shows how little shopping you do when you buy titles.

Seriously, you don't know what you are talking about at this point.

Oh look, even more expensive than the battle.net store. Gotta pay a whole $20 more and wait for the price to drop a whole 33% for it to even match what blizzard offers...

And you're right, Origin editions is actually a deluxe edition, not a "first day special" edition. Now let me go buy the deluxe editions for Blizzard's games that didn't just come out in the past year. Oh wait, that's right, they're not available anymore! Surprise! It's a limited time deal. It's almost like I never once said it was a preorder special or anything similar to that.

I've been buying Blizzard stuff for quite sometime. The only price reduction you're going to get is NOT going to be from Blizzard until a year or more down the road. The ONLY exception I see is when they expire the origin's edition and sell a $40 copy of the base game for consoles, making it the same price as PC. If you're wanting it cheaper, it's going to be either through buying "used" copies, or through other stores doing sales. Oh and before you do the whole "so you proved my point about it being cheaper". I explicitly stated the following, "Blizzard doesn't cut their base game until a couple years or an expansion gets released."

No where did I mention bestbuy or amazon or similar. BLIZZARD doesn't cut their base game.

u/IdeaPowered · 1 pointr/Games

>it's the same engine, with the same spec requirements, with the same units and multiplayer, with 2 more units added. The biggest change was some additional story, typical of an expansion.

Since when it same engine and specs required of a new game? O.o

It has a whole new campaign! A whole FULLY LOADED campaign with the same length as WoL and HoTS.

>If you're wanting a brand new copy, no there won't be.

Literally just googled and there were options for 18% discounts in places. Why can't you accept that Blizzard and Activision do discounts now too?

Origins version isn't limited. The Pre-Order was limited and you got an extra Widowmaker skin. Care to source? There's NOTHING about it being limited on their page. It's "Normal / Deluxe / Collectors" as many other companies do. Origins is NOT Pre-Order.

>Battle.net is going to be the only source for the PC version, if it's not already.

This just shows how little shopping you do when you buy titles.

u/Doge_Jedi · -2 pointsr/Overwatch

Pretty sure there hasn't been an official announcement unless I missed it. A dev tweeted saying 4PM PDT on the 23rd but people were unsure if that meant the time for physical release or servers going up because of the notice on Amazon that says:

>Release date announcement: "Overwatch" will now be released one day early, on May 23rd, 2016. Servers go live on May 24th, 2016.

EDIT: was just pointing out that there is still some confusion, not saying that myself or anyone else should believe Amazon over a dev tweet.
