/u/a1000xrickandmorty - if you want [hours of continuous 4K recording] (https://www.dpreview.com/forums/thread/4011559), you might want to consider an [$897.99 Panasonic G85 body] (https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-G85KBODY-Mirrorless-Interchangeable-Megapixels/dp/B01LYU3WZR/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) with a [$22 adapter for your Nikon glass] (https://www.amazon.com/Concept-Mount-Adapter-Nikon-Micro/dp/B00LECYYR8//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) instead of a small sensor camcorder.

This setup will cost about the same as the [$898 AX53] (https://www.amazon.com/Sony-FDRAX53-Video-Recording-Camcorder/dp/B01950TCEU//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) plus the shoe adapter or $22 more than the [$897.99 WXF991] (https://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-HC-WXF991K-Ultra-Camcorder-Camera/dp/B01A60T3R4//ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&linkCode=ll1&tag=battleforthew-20) - but will give you full manual control - plus the ability to duplicate the nice, shallow depth of field and blurred backgrounds you're getting from your D7000.

As far as your computer goes, if it has trouble editing 4K, I recommend you edit with 1080p proxies until you're ready to upgrade.

[Here] (https://9to5mac.com/2016/07/08/how-to-edit-4k-video-final-cut-pro-12-inch-macbook-proxy-media/) is how to do it with FCP, [here] (http://www.rangefinderonline.com/features/how-to/Getting-Acquainted-with-Offline-Video-Editing-to-Ease-You-Into-4K-8988.shtml) is how to do it in Premiere.

Hope this is helpful, good luck with your business and best of the holidays to you and yours!

I went from t3i to a GH4 and loved the transition. I felt like a god at my first shoot, and didn't realize how handicapped I was when using the t3i for video.

I wouldn't completely write a micro 4/3 camera and a 'dumb adapter.' My metabones speedbooster honestly feels like part of my GH4. Maybe consider getting the speedbooster paired with the G85. You'll have the wonders of IBIS and also be able to keep all your glass, then.

It's an older camera at this point and there are newer options at the same price that will outperform it. I would do exactly what you're thinking with the metabones and sigma, then just use a Panasonic G85 as your camera. Plus if you want to save a little, you can go for a used body only G85 and that will cut a few hundred off.

Everyone here loves the Panasonic G7 for a budget camera. But the newer version, the G85, is probably the best image quality in terms of a budget camera.

The newer G85 has no time limit and an optional battery grip for one extra battery. Should cover two hours.

Bit over budget, maybe you can find a deal or wait til price drop. Perhaps upcoming holiday sales might have something. (Stabilization firmware update coming this week from Panasonic.)

Are theses deal too good to be true for a Panasonic Lumix G85 (e.g. am I missing something here?)?

This camera is roughly $130+ less at these sites than on Amazon.

Why would that be? Is it an older version or something?
