Is the top of that fixture flat and smooth? If so, and assuming that the fixture is rigid, you can use a suction cup camera mount like this: https://www.amazon.com/Panavise-809-Camera-Window-Suction-Cup/dp/B000246ST6

Or if you prefer smaller: https://www.amazon.com/Camera-Suction-Tripod-Holder-Screen/dp/B007E4PUT6

I use suction cup camera mounts for mine. You can find these in all shapes, sizes, budgets.

Good luck!

Mount has gone up a little, but this is the type I use.

I use the Panavise suction cup mounts with my FlipHD camera occasionally.

I've never worried about it falling off. I've attached it to the sunroof, the actual roof, the windshield, the front fender, and the back hatch of my WRX and had no problems. I've used it at highway speeds and while racing with the SCCA.

If you can find something similar to hold the Nexus securely I think it should work. Depending on your car though, there may be a bunch of vibrations on the sunroof glass that could distort your video.

is this the mount you speak of?

I would think that this would work, but I haven't tried it.
