On a different type of positive note. I picked up a portable wireless Apple Watch magnetic charger from amazon. It was 40 bucks. Hooks to my keychain and can charge my watch one and a half times. I really like it. That’s probably what they were going for.

I have this and always have it in my work bag just in case. It holds enough for a charge or two and then just top it off with another cable.

You could always look at getting a used one from whatever your Craigslist equivalent is.
Otherwise, there are keychain docks like this that might be harder to lose if attached to something important like keys.
You could also check out a portable power bank to charge your phone and watch, but you'd be looking at a bigger price tag.
