Method One : Get better at it.

Stripping wires is not for the rough handed . I once faced the same problem. Whenever I cut, I would get right through the wire. Don't get rough. Keep the cutter at an angle and gently press it and you will feel it when you get through the insulation. Then with a swift straight movement flick the cut part away.

Method Two : Get an Automatic Wire Stripper. No need to be careful with this thing. Removes the insulation in a jiffy. $20.

I hated how expensive the fully-automatic type was, until I used it for 5 minutes. Of course, later I found the same thing for 1/4th the price.

Self-adjusting wire strippers are amazing, but may be expensive for a single-use tool. Here is a cheaper version.

Here's one from Amazon.com for cheaper.

Banana plugs are pointless (and technically reduce quality) unless you are unplugging and plugging wire extremely often. I use spades (better contact and conductivity than bananas) because I am constantly changing speakers and amps.

this works fine for me

They’re great but they wear out really quickly, hence why most professionals use this style instead.

Edit: I don’t know this. And I don’t know why I said this. What I do know is that I’m a dipshit.

Edit 2: Actually; I do know why I said this. I wanted to look smart to the internet people. I hope this behavior doesn’t persist into the future, and that my actions now don’t reflect poorly on my past actions. This was a dick move.
