Over the last 3 months, I have traveled between CA (ONT) and IL (MDW) roughly 20 times for work. One thing I learned is; Pelican cases are well worth the investment.

 
Even the single pistol cases which are roughly $35 are absolutely great. I highly recommend getting one, if even just to keep a gun in a vehicle.

Options if you're looking for a case to carry a gun in checked luggage:

The one on the bottom is a 1700 for my AR.

I use a Pelican 1170 with pick n pluck foam. Most of the other similarly sized cases like the 1150 and 1200 are a lot taller than they need to be, the 1170 is the slimmest of the cases outside of the laptop and micro cases, while also being wide enough to fit 10 balis per layer.

This case has foam inside you can trim to fit the gun. I've used it lots of times when traveling by air. Small locks that are used on trailer hitches fit real nice and they are "non-tsa"... like this (buy 2):

When you get to the counter at Spirit tell them you need to declare a firearm, they'll lead you through the process, which varies somewhat depending on the airline and the agent. Once they do their thing, you put your locking case inside your suitcase, and then put a TSA-approved lock on the suitcase. That's all you need to do. You'll be surprised, the agents don't act like it's a big deal, they do this pretty frequently.

So I can't find concrete details on the dimensions of the switch, but I believe it will fit in this pelican case, which is $35 and nearly indestructible not to mention completely waterproof.

I love this little box and love that I can fit everything I need in it! Just thought I'd share my layout for anyone looking into pelican cases.

Edit: the containers on the top right are abv(left) finishing grinder(middle) and pre ground weed (right) that couldn't make it into the trench.

For $40 you might as well just get a real Pelican 1170 hard case. It's big enough to hold a full-sized firearm, or maybe a couple sub-compacts if you want.

The bag,no. Some of the Plano stuff is. Their website has an airline approved filter. The ones they advertise as airline approved are pretty expensive though. The Pelican 1170 says it's TSA approved for $50. Probably just need your own locks.

I have a Pelican 1170 case with 3 Dragon Shield Gaming Boxes in it, 2 ultra pro plastic deck boxes, tokens, commanders in top loaders, and a set of dice all fit snuggly, as well it is waterproof.

I just don't really see re-selling a $35 case plus 15 minutes of work as anything other than trying to grab cash from lazy folks who don't have "the Google."

Don't get me wrong. I obviously love this stuff.

But to see something like this presented as a "product for sale" (Bondbox? No, it's a Pelican 1170 case) just reminds me of all the terrible things you can buy on Etsy that you could make better for less than half the selling price.

Yeah I've been looking up the pelican cases but am sort of confused. All I want is to carry a vape, grinder and weed but I keep finding pelican cases that can fit that and more. Do you know if the smaller ones are still good at keeping out smells?

Stores 20 safely, basically mil spec grade protection which is great if you have a lot of exotics or rare pieces. You can buy multiple and they stack too.

If he has handguns, you can get him a Pelican case for a pistol.

It's got easily removable foam that you can use to cut to size.

You can get the hard case and some standard foam for about $50, but I paid a bit more for the custom watch insert. You could definitely make do with the standard.

It's all going to come down to the case you put the device in. Impacts to the screen are not the only thing that breaks devices.

You don't need pelican cases by the way. I just like spending excess amounts of money :)

The Pelican 1150 looks like it might be the right size for a 40% You could fit 2 plancks in it but it would be tight. OR a planck and a wristwrest.

Have a lock for every lock hole on your case. Also a non-TSA lock for the suitcase the locked pistol case is put in.

Jet Blue requires a non-TSA lock to be in each of those holes or they will not let you check the gun. I almost missed my flight home due to this rule which is NOT on their website. Which I showed the ticketing agent but he said it was still policy and couldn't do anything about it.

They are required to and do sell TSA approved gun cases for situations like this, $55 for a pistol case.
