Another thing you should do is get some good quality wool socks because they're very good about wicking moisture away. Wool socks plus Gore-Tex Merrels were a winning combo for me. I know you might think of wool socks as being for keeping your feet warm in the winter, and while that's true, they also do a surprisingly phenomenal job of letting excess heat and moisture leave your feet. These are the socks I wear with my Merrels. Pricey but so, so worth it.
A cheaper alternative (no lifetime guarantee) are four pairs of Peoples Socks for $22.95 from Amazon. They usually hover in the $27-$29 range but dropped in price this morning.
