The solution to this would be to get a mouse-pad, maybe an extended pad would be your best choice, I got a 950x400mm mousepad for around £10 on amazon which is more than enough pad for my mouse and keyboard to sit on.

This is the countertop: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90331473/

The Drawers are the Alex and the trestle is https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/10118971/

it sticks out a tiny tiny bit, maybe an inch on each side, slack is even on each side so I had room in the back for cables.

Mousepad is here:

corsair k65 rgb. this is one of the huge reasons i went with this board over a k70, more room for mousin on an ungodly large mousepad :3

It's this

Just get a large one like this

u/pr0ph3cyhill · 3 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

Looking at the photo, it appears you cleared about as much room as your numpad is taking up. Why not just get a smaller keyboard? I personally use a Leopold FC660m Keyboard and a Perixx XXL and I have plenty of room for playing on 800dpi 1sens, and I usually surf in CS more than MM.

Headset:

Mousepad:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EG7WB8C

That should be all.

Getting cheap headsets (like 30 or under) is kinda a waste of money, since they won't be that good, will probably not last long and you'll want to upgrade them anyway. HyperX Cloud is an entry-level of decent sound and totally worth it.

In any case, all things I listed combined should be withing your budget.

I got a Redragon M801 Mammoth a year ago and have been very happy with it, but I am not a hard core competitive gamer.

And just so you don't have to ask... /r/MousepadReview

I use one of these.

u/pikachuuuuu · 2 pointsr/GirlGamers

I have this one, it's huge and covers my whole desk so I can use my mouse wherever I want.

u/lloydapalooza · 2 pointsr/MechanicalKeyboards

This mousepad by Perixx has a more subtle logo

u/heartagram_ben · 2 pointsr/battlestations

It's this one in XXL it's a really nice surface to work on. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00EG7WB8C

u/Roquemore92 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

It is a Perixx DX-1000XXL. Just got it 2 days ago and am loving it. That was the last piece I was waiting on to "finish" my battlestation.

u/Elaine_Benes_ · 2 pointsr/GlobalOffensive

Get the biggest one you can! I would recommend the largest Perixx mat. It's only $20 on Amazon. It's big enough that your keyboard and mouse go on it. Here's what my setup looks like with it: http://imgur.com/a/PhoC6

u/WolfieZer0 · 2 pointsr/macsetups

It's a Perixx DX-1000XXL (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00EG7WB8C/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_a5EPwb19YSSA5). Not sure how it stacks up against more expensive offerings, but for cushioning the keyboard (I have a habit of punching keys when I code) and making the mouse movement smooth it's perfect!

u/Faliver · 2 pointsr/MouseReview

I've haven't noticed any sort of inaccuracy. Cursor action is smooth using the Logitech dongle. Haven't tested over Bluetooth.

No mouse pad at work (photo of my desk surface). I use this mouse pad at home (same mouse).

u/sysera · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I use the XXL version of this. I've had 3 of them, I ask my in laws for a new one every year for Christmas because it's cheap and I love having a fresh one.

It never slips/moves out of place and it's super thin so it doesn't have a thick edge that gets uncomfortable on the arms/wrist over time.

u/Nekokeki · 2 pointsr/boardgames

Here's is an actual 3' x 1.5' mousepad for $15. So, for $30 you can get 2 mats that equal about 3'x3' when combined and give a bit more thickness. Gives it some flexibility to use one if you only need one too.

u/ThePoopfish · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

This one is pretty good as well, a little wider, don't think it's machine washable though.

u/nallar · 2 pointsr/Planetside

It's a Perixx DX-1000XXL.

Apparently the packaging is a bit hit-or-miss, some people get it delivered creased. Mine was rolled up properly.

I have a very slick playing surface and was tired of my keyboard sliding. I outgrew the QCK I recently purchased and knew the QCK+ wasn't going to fix my desk. After my keyboard, I still have near 18X18 for swipes. It's cheaper than the QCK+ (with prime) and seems faster than my old QCK.

Only possible downsides are that it's not a well-known brand; it takes up quite a bit of real estate; and is noticeably thicker than a QCK/+.

tl;dr: cheaper than QCK+ while being over 2X size in length, seems to have excellent quality (only a few nights of play), and plenty of space.

u/Tommyp2006 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

From the looks of it, it's this one

https://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-1000XXL-Gaming-Mouse-Pad/dp/B00EG7WB8C

I've had the same one for about 2 years. It's held up well, a little faded, and one of the edges has gone kinda wavey, but the material isn't peeling up at all, mice read very well on it. Worth every bit of $20.

u/RedKingOsu · 2 pointsr/osugame

alright thanks for the advice, i bought https://www.amazon.co.uk/Perixx-DX-1000XXL-Gaming-Mouse-Pad/dp/B00EG7WB8C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1463388108&sr=8-2&keywords=qck%20xxl to possible lessen the effects of it. I dont really mind cursor drift but its quite annoying when its a super jumpy map with no breaks or slow parts to adjust the mouse.

u/mithikx · 2 pointsr/buildapcsales

Corsair sells one: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Gaming-MM200-Cloth-Extended/dp/B0149QBQE4/

Here's a slightly cheaper one: https://www.amazon.com/Perixx-DX-1000XXL-Gaming-Mouse-Pad/dp/B00EG7WB8C/

I've never used either so I can't vouch for them.

u/akelis · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

I don't notice any difference in how it feels, but I do notice a difference in how it sounds (desk mat vs. quartz bench-top).

edit: I'm using this desk pad: http://amzn.com/B00EG7WB8C

I also took one of my ErgoDox boards and put a 0.25" thick layer of 40A silicon rubber on the bottom. Works just about as well for decreasing noise, and makes it fairly resistant to sliding on smooth surfaces.

The mouse mat is from Perixx (size 900x440x3mm). This is a German link you might be able to find in your place as well: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00EG7WB8C?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

I don't use the Magic Mouse at all so I don't know if it works well with it. The material works beautifully with my MX Master though.

u/dan994 · 1 pointr/MechanicalKeyboards

Its a Perixx mat. I love it.

u/mushroomwig · 1 pointr/battlestations

That would be this. :)

I play on 3200 dpi and 0.32 ingame sens and 5/11 windows sens with this mouse pad https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00EG7WB8C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I warmup movement with surf servers and then dm, like many other people in here have said.

I got it here

It is the Perixx DX-1000XXL and it has served me well. Be aware that the edges aren't as smooth as I think they could be so it annoys my arm a little when I am mousing.

Still a great size and texture for my needs!

Honestly, my old one was de-laminating, and this huge one was on sale for ~$20 on Amazon. I thought it was pretty cool, so I bought it.

Basically, I will never have "too small" of a mousepad.
