I'm at 11 weeks so while I don't have a protruding belly, I do have some pressure in my uterus that means no stomach sleeping anymore. I also have some hip and joint pain. I got one of the regular square body pillows and it didn't really help. This pillow has allowed me glorious glorious sleep!
And my dogs love it too, and have been curled in it when I'm not.

It's ok. I don't love it. I think it's as dense as a snoogle, but that's only from poking one in a store.
I frequently wake up on my back, while I've been a life long side sleeper. I can't say if the pillow is to blame, but I may have to come up with something else when I'm later on and back sleeping is more important to avoid.
It is pretty great as lumbar support sitting up in bed when folded in half.
I may consider getting a "horse shoe" shaped one if this doesn't work out.
Any pillow can be like wrestling an octopus to go pee in the middle of the night.

This is the one I got around 12 weeks. I only just started sleeping with it through at 34 weeks. It's been great! I'm more of a back sleeper, and this pillow makes a little nest I can pass out in. I am on the shorter side around 5'2, but it provides a ton of support for the bump. It's super comfy between my knees and helps a ton with back and pelvic pain. And best of all is it doesn't take up a ton of room, so me, DH, and kitty cat can all sleep comfortably.
There is a pregnancy pillow for a super good price on there right now.
I'm sorry. I don't even have a bump yet and sleeping has become extremely uncomfortable for me too. I ordered a body pillow from Amazon, see link at the bottom. While it does not completely resolve my issue, it has helped. What I like is that you can fold and reposition this pillow multiple ways. So if am able to fall asleep in one position, I can reposition in the middle of the night if I wake up uncomfortable.
