Not the biggest discount since it's been at or below $130 lately, but this is the cheapest they have ever been on Amazon per CCC and beat Newegg's sale 4 months ago by 1 cent.

I payed a significant amount more for mine months ago but don't regret my purchase. I love these headphones.

u/Fenghoang · 4 pointsr/headphones

They're on sale again, in case you missed the Amazon Prime Day deal last week.

There appears to be two versions of the X2HR on Amazon (the X2HR/00 and X2HR/27). Not sure if there's a difference but this is the X2HR/00 version.

Camelcamelcamel price history for the X2HR/00 and the X2HR/27. Also the discontinued X2/27 for comparison.

I'm sure you already know this, but you can save a ton of money by not going with RGB. At least $500 worth, and that's not even me switching out parts where I think you could save money on. I didn't even know they made SSDs with RGB, lol! :)

It looks pretty good overall, not sure about $267 for the headphones. I'd go with the Philips Fidelio X2s. I bought them new for $300 a few years back. Great for music and gaming.

I was just suggesting these Phillips Fidelio X2/HR open back 3.5mm HiRes headphones to someone else. I bought them for $350, they’re running for $99 today for Black Friday. And I bought a $30 V-MODA Boom Pro flexible mic that runs as the cable between it and the controller for when I game. Fucking love ‘em, figured I’d throw it out there while I had the link on my clipboard.

X2HR are $100 https://www.amazon.com/Philips-X2HR-Over-Ear-Open-Air-Headphone/dp/B01N5VHLUG/

Bigger soundstage on the X2HR, which many people find more engaging. Bass will be a bit tighter on the DT770, but the X2HR are no slouch.

Those X2HR currently have free returns, which means Amazon pays return shipping if you don't like them. Order them and see what you think.

The best gaming headsets aren't "gaming" headsets at all. They're proper headphones paired with a mic.

Just to give you an idea, you can take the

I would recommend the Sennheiser HD598sr. It is an open-back headphone with only 50 ohm impedance so it can be run directly from a mobile device-the volume level just needs to be a bit higher than you may currently be using.

Also, if you’re in the US, Amazon has a ridiculous sale on the Philips Fidelio X2HR for $150. These are amazing, especially at that price. Great soundstage, open-back, less neutral, slight bass emphasis. These are only 30ohms as well, and can definitely be run from any mobile device.

Price dropped to $99 on Nov 27.

99€ for the X2 on French Amazon:

https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B01N5VHLUG/ref

It's 98,18€ + 4,89€ for shipping to Germany (the price changes because of the different VAT, I don't know their other shipping rates across the EU)

u/Krossrunner · 2 pointsr/buildapc

I got this set of Philips as my headset for gaming/music (no need for an amp, and the headphones are on sale again rn!) and they’ve been amazing so far:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N5VHLUG/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

And I’m using a shitty Blue Snowball Ice as my dedicated mic, it works perfectly for me.

u/fastvroomy · 2 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

Looks like amazon has them right now.

u/Fumferknuckle · 2 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

The Fidelio's are actually $99 for me, try this link: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-X2HR-Over-Ear-Open-Air-Headphone

I think I am bout to purchase the Fidelio's myself. It was that or the SHP9500's, but think I've decided to go for the (currently) 50ish dollars more set of cans. I have wanted a 770/880/990 set for years but think I prefer the X2HR's (having not heard either) for the functionality and such. Removable cable, open back compared to 770 pros but not missing out on bass, less impedance ect.

I am hesitant mostly due to the headband style and possible weight, but if it's comfortable then I'm cool. Having not tried the X2HR's or the SHP9500's, I *think* I prefer the 9500's headband design compared to the Fidelio design but can't have everything.

Let us know what you get, and rock on!

u/BlubBlimp · 2 pointsr/audiophile

I am not sure what headphones to get right now for more casual listening . I have a budget of ~$100 and already have a dragonfly red amp and a pair of ATH-m50x. The headphones I am looking at are:

V Moda Crossfade Wireless

Sennheiser HD 599 SE

Audio-Technica ATH-AD700X

Philips Fidelio X2HR

u/MrOlinad · 2 pointsr/headphones

If opened back isn't a problem for you.
For gaming I think that X2's are hard to beat.

Fun is a word used to describe the Fidelio X2 pretty often. Or you could go the planar route with Hifiman HE4XX. You'll want an amp for the latter.

u/Screech_Morris · 2 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

I got this one.

I wouldn't call it neutral. I would call it balanced though. Check out innerfidelity review on it.

When first released these were like $300.

If you're open to open backs, Fidelio X2's are on sale for $140! Good bass and soundstage from what I've heard, Zeos loved em.

Gotcha, I'm guessing these are the one's you're referring to then.

Currently $150 on amazon. I'll check out CamelCamelCamel.

Newegg has them for $150.

Amazon has a lightning deal for $160.If you have an Amazon Rewards Visa with 6% cash back the price comes to about the same on both sites when you factor US tax. (7% for me)

If you want to avoid the amp, you need something other than the HD600/650/660/6xx series.

The Fidelio X2s are on Amazon right now for a limited time for $149.00

https://www.amazon.com/Philips-X2HR-Over-Ear-Open-Air-Headphone/dp/B01N5VHLUG

They don't need an amp, are comfortable as all hell, and Amazon has a great return policy if you don't like them.

u/ashberic · 1 pointr/headphones

X2 HRs are $179 currently on Amazon.
Same as the vanilla X2s, just with a slightly different finish and slightly different earpads.

Thinking about grabbing a pair to retire my SHP9500s myself.

u/Rookie_1986 · 1 pointr/buildapc

It’s definitely sold as “New” because I’ve received the promotion codes for the free games which are offered with the purchase of a new RTX GPU. I’ve never heard of Amazon selling used//refurbished items on their main website (warehouse returns are listed as such with a condition rating here in the UK:- https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B01N5VHLUG/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used).

Amazon offer 30 day returns on pretty much everything to my knowledge.

So, would you definitely say it’s a refurbished unit?

u/kare_kano · 1 pointr/headphones

If you're really keen only on the bass and need the isolation, V-Moda M100. If you'd also like something suited to a wider variety of genres (plus gaming), the Fidelio X2.

u/zyck_titan · 1 pointr/hardware

I mean, you could argue.

~$290 for a pair of open back headphones is pretty high. Are they measurably or noticeably better than this or this?

Audio-Technica is a respected brand, that doesn't mean they don't leverage that brand as a way to rip people off.

u/adilmos · 1 pointr/ZReviews

For EU people outside UK it should be cheaper on amazon.de (119e at time of posting).

u/DZCreeper · 1 pointr/buildapc

Surround sound is a bit of a marketing tactic when it comes it headphones. Human hearing can locate objects via stereo sound just fine, if the headphones are accurate and the source properly setup.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-SHP9500-00-Headphone/dp/B00ENMK1DW

Those are fantastic for the money.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-X2HR-Resolution-Headphones-Isolation-Black/dp/B01N5VHLUG

Right at the top of your budget but they are an even better pair. Both pairs of Philips headphones are low impedance, even mobile devices can drive them hard.

If you want something in the middle, I am a fan of the Beyerdynamic DT 770's.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/beyerdynamic-770-PRO-Studio-Headphones/dp/B0016MNAAI

These are slightly higher impedance, so you may want to invest in a headphone amp and external DAC for just a touch more quality.

u/LordMensa · 1 pointr/battlestations

My headset is connected to a Soundblaster X-fi DAC (digital audio converter) amplifier. The Philips Fidelio X2 headphones aren’t quite powered sufficiently by my motherboard, so this DAC bypasses my onboard sound and essentially does the job much better. The microphone is a Vmoda boompro inline microphone, also being driven by the DAC.

only 30ohm, so pretty much anything can drive them. Check out z-reviews on youtube or here for his thoughts on these (basically they're highly recommended gaming headphones because of the v-shape sound and wide soundstage).

So where would you place the HD599 and the X2HR in your ranking from above?

u/mugenbb6 · 0 pointsr/buildapcsales

The link you posted is for the "glued" one the badseed suggested to avoid. Here's the better one. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N5VHLUG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_83YFDbWAMNCW1
Unfortunately, it's more expensive.
