Thanks everyone, I think i'm going to get one.

I have several hue colour bulbs and an iris (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-Colours-Changing-Integrated-Control/dp/B008B4DC7K/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1481810200&sr=8-2&keywords=hue+iris&linkCode=ll1&tag=best-reviewer-21&linkId=4972b94f97e0fd6e2080c672767bd568) . I have been a bit annoyed with myself about the iris as I didn't realise it would only work with the stand alone remote and couldn't communicate with the bridge etc...

The table lamp looks perfect though.

Thanks all.

I don't think so

I have:

  • 4 hue lamps
  • 2 livingcolor lamps (gen2 and gen3)
  • 1 livingwhite bulb (think hue lux, but non-led)
  • 2 livingwhite dimmers

it's only the livingwhite dimmers that don't appear, all the others show up in the alexa app.

If I query the bridge myself, getting a list of devices, the dimmers appear very slightly different to the white main lamp, so I guess perhaps they're just too different for the echo to work with. Shame really, its probably a trivial bug fix

It's not a range issue, they always work with the hue app (and other apps, for that matter)

My mate said he couldn't get his echo to see his 2nd gen bridge and lamps at all, so I guess I can't complain too much. If I can spot the problem with some packet sniffing, I'll see if I can form a decent bug report and send it on.

Although not on my main wish list, this is the most expensive thing.
