ETA: Oh look the before and after images too http://ceramide-pcd.com/moisturizing.html. Inb4 explaining it away as demonstrating the benefits of ceramide.

I did some reverse google image searching and found that one of their "scientific" chart type images appears to be ripped from another vitamin. If this was a stock photo that they purchased the rights to, then surely it wouldn't be in such a poor resolution.

Fucking wow.

Was told to post this as a new comment so more people can see. I confronted the brand through their support email about using the Ceramide PCD graphs and images: TLDR at the end

So I actually emailed Halo Beauty Support and here is a copy/paste of our interaction:
"Hello!
I am interested in this product but I am wondering why it has copied exact images and graphs from an ingredient called ceramide-pcd?
Halo beauty is saying they are for Ceramide- RX but that is obviously not the case. I have included a link to the actual supplement where the images and graphs originated from.
This seems really bad... please explain
http://ceramide-pcd.com/moisturizing.html
Yours"

Their first reply came really quickly

"Support Team - HaloBeauty (HaloBeauty) Mar 2, 14:49 PST
Hi [My name removed], We have an extract of ceramides from Japan. The ceramide-pcd is a similar trade name for the product and the supplier of the raw material is the same - Oryza in Japan.
I hope this clarifies your questions. Please let us know if there is anything else we can provide to you.
Sincerely, Halo Beauty Support Halo Beauty"

I replied and asked them if this was not a unique ingredient then they responded again very quickly within 10 minutes.

It's actually a very unique ingredient as it's extraordinarily rare, expensive, and difficult to source. We trademarked the name Ceramides-RX, as part of a distribution agreement from the manufacturer Oryza in Japan. Instead of renaming it something obscure and calling it proprietary, we were transparent about what was actually inside. Hope this helps! Halo Beauty"

I wanted to know if they could justify the price so I responded

"Thank you so much for your speedy and polite reply!
I have one more question as you touched on it in your answer. I know the item price was attributed to the very expensive nature of Ceramide Rx, which you have now indicated is just another trade name of the Ceramide PCD.
If that is true I can buy a 30 day supply of (vegetarian capsules) Ceramide PCD for $9.00, with 100 mg of Ceramide PCD per capsule while Halo Beauty’s HSN only had 40 mg per 2 capsules and is $39.95 per 30 day supply. Why the drastically higher price?
Here is the product I am talking about: https://www.amazon.com/Phytoceramides-Ceramide-PCD-Derived-Gluten-Supplement/dp/B01B06Z7M8/ref=lp_13204985011_1_6_a_it
I am not trying to be difficult, I am just legitimately trying to understand both the ingredients (which you have been very kind to explain) and now the price.
Yours"

This time it took them a few hours to respond and I got this:

"Support Team - HaloBeauty (HaloBeauty) Mar 2, 18:48 PST
I have no idea about that product, but from the surface, I guess it's only $9 because that's their only hero ingredient and their packaging is so inexpensive. We have premium packaging that's produced in a dust-free facility, and a formula that is filled in a lab in the USA under sterile conditions. The employees all wear, lab coats, gloves, hair nets and surgical masks. Regardless, I'm sorry that you're unhappy with our pricing strategy, we did the best we could do. Halo Beauty"

TLDR: I emailed Halo Beauty to see wtf was up. Apparently Ceramide PCD and Ceramide RX are trade names of the same product form Japan. I then emailed and asked why a bottle of Ceramid PCD was 9.00 for more mg/ capsule and the same one month supply and theirs had less and was more expensive. Their response: Our Packaging is pretty and people in our labs wear PPE.

Just adding this here. Ceramide PCD study was using 350mg Tati's vitamins have 20mg x2 dosage.

Hot and flashy took phytoceramides for a while using 350 mg dosage. Not sure if she is still taking those but you can check her results.

This bottle has a 100mg dosage and a money back guarantee. I am sure ceramides can help retain moisture but you can try supplements at much cheaper cost. Also we don't know any negatives from the study since it's one study and been done 18 years ago.

Edit: I don't think her product is bad but it is priced high unlike claims it is not. Her launch and explanations are bullshit. Her marketing them as magic and not just citing study for what is it, causes misinformation. The idea was bad and the execution worse. Sadly as a viewer I would hv liked if she informed me what her ingredients are along with the goods and the bads and why she chose to create abrand when there are already so many in the market.

Edit 2: 350 mg is for wheat based phytoceramides and not rice based.

Edit 3: hotandflashy confirmed she's still taking phytoceramides for 6 months a year in winters, from September - March. She said that they help her skin stay more hydrated in the winters.
