Reddit reviews Pirates of the Caribbean: Four-Movie Collection (Blu-ray + Digital Copy)

I'm taking over the new releases from charlesp22 (with permission) so he doesn't have to do everything here, so now every Friday we'll have a look at what is coming the following week.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides seems to be the most popular this week, I've yet to see this myself. The "Five-Disc Combo: Blu-ray 3D / Blu-ray / DVD / Digital Copy" seems a little excessive though. There's also a nice four movie treasure chest edition as well. Also The Goonies on Blu-ray, but it looks like the same as DVD version presumably with a resolution upgrade. Finally as a Sci-Fi fan I have to mention "The Captains - A Film By William Shatner", I look forward to seeing this when it gets a UK release.

In the UK this week (17th) we've got Green Lantern, Pulp Fiction (BD), Jackie Brown (BD), Bones (S6), Nightmare On Elm Street 1-7 (BD)

Also, if you're a fan, there a worldwide release of Star Wars Clone Wars - Season 3 and a boxed set of seasons 1-3.

I've noticed Disney's packaging can be good looking and creative, but they're disc placements are horrible. Having discs so loose like that and stack up on each other like that seems like it could be a disaster. I think it's the same for the Cars set, the Pirates collection and the Lion King set

I don't know of a website that specializes in special collectors editions, but I'd like one too.

One of my favorites is this Australian edition of Black Books that came with a custom wine opener and stopper so you can be an alcoholic just like the characters! I've also got these two Kill Bill sets from Japan that are awesome, came with the movie completely uncensored and cool stuff like a little replica of her sword and a stand for it, and a Pai Mei keychain.

I'll just list a bunch of special editions I know of: Forbidden Planet, The Wizard of Oz, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Sound of Music, Gone with the Wind, Casablanca, Tron 1&2, Heathers, Pirates 4 movie set, The Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2, Ben Hur, The Lion King 3 movie set, Futurama, The Big Lebowski, complete Golden Girls, and the briefcase edition of Blade Runner and X-Files.

I have the PoTC: Dead Me Tell No Tales in 4K for $8. Just FYI, I have never seen someone offer the first 4 movies for sale or trade.

Someone mentioned the codes are extremely rare, and only came with the special edition bundle that came with a chest, but I don't recall if the codes redeem in HD or SD.

Imladris! Here's my fantasy item. LotR is awesome for sure (and I will watch the fuck out of this gift if I win!) but my oldest fantasy fave is pirates! I've always been a pirate at heart.

they do have codes actually. there was a unique set - something chest that came with codes. the chest cost about $100-$150, so the codes were not cheap.
Edit: this thingy comes with codes for the first 3 pirates

Did your Pirates codes come from this set or are they just for DMR points?
