The only down side is waiting for shipping you would need to have this on hand to utilize it.

Women (and men who want to help out): you can buy Plan B on Amazon.

You can also buy the generic version for cheaper.

You do not need a prescription.

Naturally this isn't for every situation, but this is still an option regardless of where you live (in secret):

Not sure if this violates any rules, but plan B is available through amazon. I try to mention it whenever applicable, so pass it on if you want: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H2D6WUA

You can order them off Amazon currently. To be clear there is a difference between Plan B and Mifepristone. Plan B is basically a large dose of birth control to prevent egg from attaching even if fertilized. It must be used within 72 hours of initial possible conception. Mifepristone (aka RU-486) is a chemical abortion pill capable of causing the body to eject an existing attached fertilized egg.

People tend to misuse the term abortion pill when discussing the two. https://www.amazon.com/Plan-B-One-Step-1-tablet/dp/B00H2D6WUA

Can she order it online, such as from Amazon or similar websites? Or any place that can ship it to her.

AFAIK Plan B doesn't require a prescription, meaning it should be able to be purchased right off the shelf.

She could buy it online and have it shipped either to her or to a friend. Either way, she bought it herself, using her own money. Any transaction would be traced back directly to her, not to any other person.

EDIT Actually it looks like you can buy it from Amazon. There's probably a bazillion other sellers willing to sell this since its an over-the-counter drug.

I am told Plan B keeps for four years, and it's available on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Plan-One-step-Emergency-Contraceptive-Tablet/dp/B00H2D6WUA

Just incase anyone is scared of that price tag, you can get plan B on amazon for $36.

Also no dealing with religious people at the pharmacy!

I saw that but I think my comment still stands. Most people don't stock up on this - they buy it when they need it and this has a short window to be effective. Plus a ton of things that are same-day prime are sold by other companies, but fulfilled by Amazon.

EDIT: Apparently name brand Plan B is available for free 1-day delivery so that's something - http://www.amazon.com/Plan-One-step-Emergency-Contraceptive-Tablet/dp/B00H2D6WUA/ref=sr_1_1?dd=PqO-uYCrrnKOYqTBwvCaXA%2C%2C&ddc_refnmnt=pfod&ie=UTF8&qid=1451868042&sr=8-1&keywords=plan+b&refinements=p_97%3A11292772011

If you are able I believe you can get it online, https://afterpill.com/ & https://www.amazon.com/Plan-B-One-Step-1-tablet/dp/B00H2D6WUA .

I'm not sure about your menstrual schedule, better safe than sorry?

You can get the morning after pill on Amazon here But I recommend taking a step away from alcohol until you are older. The morning after pill is your best bet because even if you are not pregnant it won't do any harm to take the pill just in case. The pill works up to 72 hours after the suspected incident. Hopefully this will be a good enough scare to make you more careful in the future. I know it was for me when I went through something similar.

If you want to use a "job performance" metaphor, then we can say the patient can "fire" their pharmacist and get their medications from one that will provide their medication. It is not as if the pharmacist is revoking the prescription. Why should the government shut someone out of an industry if they don't like one part of the job in some circumstances.

I think another case worth considering is if the state could force pharmacies to produce the drugs used in lethal injection for the death penalty. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/pharmacy-groups-balk-supplying-lethal-injection-drugs-n332656

I am not accusing you of this, but I think a good number of people in this discussion just feel like they are "sticking it to religious bigots." and just want to punish religious people who have strong beliefs on this this matter. IMO the issue this law is mean to address is the fact that if you allowed for religious exemptions, in very religious areas it may become difficult to get birth control. We shouldn't lose sight of the fact that this is the issue we want to solve, not forcing religious people to do what we want.

For example, now that Plan B isn't prescription it is possible to get on Amazon with 2 day shipping anywhere in the continental US. I think that is a nifty way around this issue without forcing anyone to participate in something they don't want to.

Sorry God... Plan B is available at pretty much every pharmacy, and even on Amazon

I've done a lot of exploration. Some thoughts include:

  1. Sex with strangers is honestly not that good. Even when they are good at sex, the lack of emotional connection is a big deal. Buuut, I am glad I've had stranger sex because it helped me respect just how important emotional connection is to me.
  2. For sex with strangers, meet in public somewhere first, for safety reasons. Have a regular date of sorts. This will give you a chance to vet them and also see if you have chemistry (and gives a chance to build that up!). Don't feel like you have to have sex with anyone you meet. If there's no chemistry, it may not be worth it. There's always gonna be more potential partners. If you get any kinda red flag, don't have sex with them. Not worth the risk.
  3. Discuss plans in depth before you have sex with someone. It can be embarrassing for someone new to sex, but it's really important. You can negotiate things you want to try and this is a really vital time to get an idea of if the other person will even be good in bed. Do they give the impression of caring about your pleasure? Make sure they are 104% on board with condom usage. If there's even the slightest hint that they don't want to wear a condom, run (stealthing is way too common to risk it). If they deviate from things you negotiated before hand, shut them down fast. Don't let people convince you to re-negotiate in the middle of sex. Negotiating before hand lets you keep a level head and avoids doing things you might later regret.
  4. As you know, always wear condoms, but it can be a good idea to have birth control of some sort, as well. Condoms are a must for preventing STDs, but they do break, stealthing is unfortunately a thing, and sexual assault is sadly always a possibility (if unlikely). It sucks to still be at risk of STDs in those situations, but it is reassuring to have a backup plan to avoid pregnancy. If not on birth control, at least research how to acquire plan B in your area and consider stocking up on some (you can buy it on Amazon). Remember that the longer you delay in taking emergency contraceptives, the less effective they are.
  5. If you wanna do any kinkier stuff (a la BDSM), I recommend finding a recurring partner and don't dive into anything that puts you in an especially vulnerable position (like bondage). Make sure you can reasonably trust your partner first.
  6. When meeting new partners, make sure a trusted friend knows where you are (can eg, share location with Google Maps). Consider setting up a "safe call", where they'll call you at a certain time.
  7. Sex with a loved one is absolutely better and avoids most of these issues. But I wouldn't let lack of a romantic partner hold you back if you want to experiment. Being able to experiment can be really invaluable for learning more about what you like, especially since any one given person might not be into the things you want to try. It can be kinda a disappointing feeling to have things on the sex bucket list that you have no way to do. I think there's a lot of value in having good ideas of what you like before locking yourself into one partner (this doesn't apply so much if you're poly, though).

>the crazy evangelicals are winning the abortion war and are likely going to be coming after birth control next

They been going after birth control for women for a while now. But its not so much the evangelicals than white old men and that matter white old women. The media and more so feminists love to paint white men as the enemy behind this but its really women who are the leaders of this. Its not surprising women aren't being blamed here. But take Alabama, their governor is a woman who signed the abortion bill there. Notice how the mainstream media isn't talking about that little part?

>The FDA has made it so you can’t mail Plan B.

Then explain why one can buy it on Amazon?

>It’s insane and will end up with more kids on welfare

It will, and there's people here that think removing welfare will cause women to have less kids.

>not to mention more men who can’t get casual sex because the women they want to have sex with won’t want to have a baby with a rando.

Its called birth control for a reason. Ya its not 100% but it certainly reduce the chances. More so the number of women risking this has overall gone down over the years. Primary due to more women being college educated and that making more money.

Or you can plan ahead and mail order some of this so it's sitting and waiting for you in an oops moment. This is NOT prescription medication. It's over the counter medicine that you need to ask for from the pharmacist, similar to nicotine patches and Sudafed.
