They're a lot deeper than they look! If all else fails, just get a smaller Plano case just for the guns and get another lockable container for everything else. Perhaps something like this (they're pretty chunky)? You don't have to use the center foam layer. I've even seen people use emptied out tool boxes bike locked to benches.
If it doesn't have to roll Plano AW gun cases are around $50, lock, are waterproof, and come with pick and pluck foam.

I have one of their AW rifle cases permanently mounted on the roof of my vehicle. Has chains, air compressor, jack, ratchet straps, gloves, jumper cables, torque wrench, and a few other items in it. I've ratchet strapped items down on top of it and it hasn't broken. It's been up there for about a year through all types of weather and hasn't leaked at all either.
Is it this one? I don't know why it seems so cool to store it broken down, but it does.
