Can anyone recommend me a good durable headset for under 35 USD ?
I was thinking of buying either Plantronics GameCom 367 , Logitech G230 , Creative Labs ChatMax HS-620 , or Turtle Beach Ear Force Z11

i use this and i love it.

Hey,

First, let me save you some frustration - chances are that you do not have what's called a "line in" on your mac. That is, the audio-in port on your computer won't accept just a mic, it has to be amplified. So if you get a mic/headset with a minijack connector you'll need to use something like this (like me): http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/imic

I use the GameCom headset: http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-Closed-Ear-Gaming-Headset/dp/B001E45XT4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278826872&sr=8-1

It works just fine. But for the cost of that and the iMic, you might as well get the USB one: http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-777-Surround-Technology/dp/B001KURYAS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278826872&sr=8-2

I use [Plantronics Gamecom 267 Closed-ear] (http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-Closed-Ear-Gaming-Headset/dp/B001E45XT4/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1334983909&sr=8-1-fkmr0), and I have no problems. I don't know what caliber of headset you want, but this one is rather cheap.

I use a Plantronics headset that has held up for a few years now. Never had any problems with it. Great sound quality and everyone says I sound crystal clear.

I use Plantronics Gamecom 367, they're nothing fancy, but they get the job done. I've worn them for hours at a time with no real discomfort, the sound is quite clear and the mic pick up is really surprisingly good. And they're a whopping $25 on amazon.

Edit: I've had them for over a year now. However, I don't know that they're super sturdy, a friend of my mine managed to crack to upper part, but he just taped them up and they're fine.

Cheap+good. :) There's some variants on the shape of the ear pads, so search around a bit.

Hey! I used to have the same problem as you.

The first thing you may want to consider is thinner frames. The thicker the frames, the more you'll have this problem.

Second, look for a headset with some nice think earpads. I bought this headset about two years ago. Works great with glasses, I can wear it all day without getting that pain from my glasses being mashed into my scalp. Great audio quality and I've never gotten any complaints about the mic quality. It's also durable as fuck.

Beautiful! Unfortunately, I don't have any wireless headset suggestions. I use this guy, but it is neither wireless nor exactly unobtrusive. It is however a great headset for its price range (for gaming).

I bought the model with the usb sound device for another 20ish bucks and it turns out the usb dongle isn't as good as the sound device in my laptop. These are the best gaming headphones I have ever used. Well worth the money. They are full ear coverage, made from thick ass plastic that will probably last a very long time.

I just recently bought the Plantronics GAMECOM 367 and it works really well. Very comfy circumaural headphones. There's also an open-eared version, the 357 which allows more outside sound to come in.

it'll pick up background noise (mainly fans, so if you arent running a fan its fine) unless you have a little foam cover of the mic, but other than that its amazing!

I am using this one here.

Cheap, sturdy as shit and really good sound quality, especially for that price. I've had them for little over a year now (no headset ever worked that long for me) and am oftentimes wearing them 8+ hours a day without them beginning to hurt (also rare, since i have a big head).

I've had Sennheiser headsets before and while i have to admit that they might sound a bit better, they're also quite expensive and tend to (for me) break rather quickly.

Although not showing any signs whatsoever, should they break, i will just rebuy the exact same one.

These have faithfully served me for at least two years... I would highly recommend them.

They are both lower than your price range but I can recommend both of these:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E45XT4 Plantronics headset. My roommate has this and it is awesome. Large and very comfortable - the sound really booms. The mic is undetectable when you fold it back into the headpiece itself - it does not look like a cheap headset at all.

I have used this headset in the past and really enjoyed it. It goes behind the head so you don't have to worry much about size, and every angle on the headset is adjustable so that you get a perfect fit. If you like things really loud there is some sound leakage that might bother the people around you but aside from that it is an awesome set. Good luck with your search!

I've a huge head, too, and it's an issue that you should take seriously, both for his comfort and for the life of the headphones. So many headsets have broken on my head over the years through no fault of anything other than they are made to fit certain sizes of heads that don't include the larger ones!

With that in mind, I recommend these: Plantronics GameCom 367

That's the set I've used for gaming for years now. They're solid but light and comfortable on my huge head. "Years" is an important word, since I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars on 'nicer' headsets that last 6-9 months before one of the cups breaks off.

u/alxsmpgmr · 1 pointr/PS3

I had a Gamecom Headset On Amazon and it was decent. Problem was, the mic broke, so I lost a headset but gained a decent pair of headphones. I wouldn't recommend them though.

u/Kajiro · 1 pointr/gaming

Im currently checking into some for myself was told to check these out.

u/nayrlladnar · 1 pointr/RandomKindness

I realize this is a long shot but, you will live on, in my head, as a complete badass if these happened to show up on my doorstep one day. http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-GameCom-Closed-Ear-Gaming-Headset/dp/B001E45XT4/ref=wl_it_dp_o_npd?ie=UTF8&coliid=I3U6QDE3U3JFV&colid=WF0R9UJ907SY

u/I-Made-You-Read-This · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have had my eye on these lately. Do people you talk with hear some sort of buzzing when you talk? I have this set (obviously not that price) but the people hear a buzzing when I talk, and am looking for new ones since one driver is broken, and am trying to eliminate the buzz problem.

Also, what it the comfort front like?

u/vocativelion · 0 pointsr/Games

I bought theGamecon 367 some years back when Circuit city was closing, they've been the best most comfortable headset that I've had.

I bought a pair of turtle beaches for my computer bag they fold nicely into the headset pouch on my bag after a year of light use they're falling apart and have rips in the cloth. I'll be looking into buying another pair of from plantronics.

I wouldn't go for razer products, very easy to break. Steelseries is good and so are logitech. Assuming you're wanting the microphone with them. If you dont need the microphone, these things are phenomenal, but if you're wanting a decent cheap headset, i've been using the gamecom 367's for about a year now and they have served me well, bare in mind the microphone is shit on it (I have an actual microphone that I use instead)
