It's not really the same thing-- MEK works but it's nasty shit and will make you unhappy or dead in many exciting ways.
I usually use either Tamiya Extra Thin or Plastruct Bondene:

A 2-ounce bottle will last you through lots of model kits. You shouldn't need to use much at all if you're doing the capillary action thing.

I'd highly recommend a solvent cement over any type of epoxy or glue. You don't need to add any material here, you need to repair a break. A solvent cement will chemically melt the pieces back together before evaporating out of the part, leaving a contiguous repaired piece of plastic almost as strong as the original.
Then, after it cures, slightly sand down the offending peg. Not so much it's loose, but if you don't it will crack the part again no matter how you repair it.
