For an extra $10, I purchased a PS3 Wireless Controller and a GameKlip. Works really well, and got a bonus PS3 controller out of it.

u/jbigboote · 12 pointsr/PS3

I would not trust them. just pony up the $40 and get a genuine one from amazon.

u/Thexare · 7 pointsr/acecombat

Amazon's got some used ones for a decent price, link has one at about $27 currently.

u/leshylabs · 4 pointsr/ouya

While it definitely isn't worth the $45 and you are probably much better off with a DS3 Controller, I found one good usage for these. Android devices are picky over what controllers they'll pair with over bluetooth. It looks like DS3 controllers can only be paired on rooted devices. Ouya controllers on the other hand, have paired very easily. They aren't great controllers, but sometimes it is handy to be able to easily connect a controller to an Android device, and the Ouya controllers (at least with my devices) have worked well for that.

u/tec2030 · 3 pointsr/PS3

Why don't you check out the prices for a used Daulshock 3 or a Sixaxis controller. Used controllers on amazon from $17: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0015AARJI/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used

u/youremindmeofthebabe · 3 pointsr/PS3

Are you a student? get free amazon prime. then buy this

Edit: alternatively, check your local craigslist. make sure you are clear you want to test the controller, not just inspect it. take your time, make sure you use every button. I'm sure you can find some great deals.

u/jasonlitka · 3 pointsr/gaming

If your roommate had a genuine controller then you need to man up and get the same. Don't get a cheap imitation.

I'm gonna go ahead and plug /r/ps3deals for finding decent deals on games and accessories.

Controllers, Amazon currently has some Dualshock 3 Wireless controllers New starting at $34.95, which is pretty good considering their usual $50 price tag. click

Looks like your setup doesn't include AV jacks, which you'd normally need for Video/Audio output on your television. Instead, just get an HDMI cable, but don't buy them from a local game shop! They'll charge you something crazy like $30 when you can get the same ones online (Amazon/Newegg) for under $10. (I made that mistake..)

Looks like you'll need the USB cable as well in order to charge the controller (to my knowledge, it doesn't come included with individually bought controllers).

u/omgmrj · 3 pointsr/ouya

This is probably the wrong subreddit to state this is, but I've been having a great time just doing this on my phone. Plus my Snapdragon S4 Pro is smoother than the Tegra 3 in the Ouya. Admittedly, in the end the price (not including the phone) is similar to Ouya, though.

  • Nexus 4

  • SlimPort to HDMI adapter

  • Dualshock 3 controller

  • Sixaxis Controller app

  • NES.emu

I really like the setup. I think it's a big plus to be able to play any game on the Play Store this way (with appropriate touch mapping profiles, if necessary) or sideload any game, like Humble Bundle.

That said, I really think Ouya's heart is in the right place, it would just have to deliver performance closer to what I'd expect from a tv-dedicated console. If it had a Snapdragon 800 SoC, I'd snatch one up in a heartbeat.

Edit: Reading other posts on here, it appears you can sideload .apks to Ouya. I guess my only complaint is the aforementioned SoC.
u/NeilOld · 2 pointsr/PS3

I don't know whether the international shipping or anything like that affects the deal, but a couple months ago I bought a new-in-package one from this Amazon seller for $42.

u/fylian · 2 pointsr/PS3

Amazon has the DualShock3 on sale for $40 right now too: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0015AARJI/

u/Efriim · 2 pointsr/RetroPie

I haven't used any handheld pi. I guess there are some good alternatives though.

NDS with charger. $25 - $40 (I would get the DSi) (DSlite bumpers and things tend to wearout)

A flash cart for NDS. $15 - $20 (DSTT I hear is best) (Acekard2i is great) (R4 is hard to tell the model) (DSTWO flashcart drains battery life, is overpriced, but has built in cpu and emulators for gba snes and genesis) All are compatible with 3ds, NDS, DSi.

MicroSD. $10. Samsung EVO 32gb on amazon is a good deal

The DS has a lot of great games, snes and genesis emulators work okay but not the best. GBA emulation only works with dstwo or ez-flash.

Total $50 - $70.

PSVITA w/ charger $110 - $150. Never used one, cfw is available for firmware up to 3.68. The firmware 3.69 is not hackable.

Vita Memory Card + microsd $20. Since the proprietary memory card are so expensive.

PSVITA & TV are cfw compatible up to 3.67 - 3.68, however there may be some homebrew incompatibility on these firmwares. 3.69 is not compatible yet. CFW can load PSP homebrew as well as play PS1.

Total $130 - $170

Wii U complete console $140. Used - Very good

SD card. $15 Sandisk 64gb Extreme SDXC

DS Virtual Console Game $10 From E-shop, needed to play DS on Console/Gamepad screens.

Emulates Nintendo up to DS, has an abandoned PSX emulator from the wii. Portable and Console for TV.

Total $165

The consoles and handhelds fluctuate in price. PSvita TV was low as $40 at one time, they are a bit inflated right now but collectors items will hold value. Finding one second hand or used for half-price is probable a used PSP is easy to find for $40 but not online.

RPI $25 - $40 RPI3b+ is what I have connected to my TV. The RPI2 is similar to RPI0 and emulates PSX but not all, as per the RPI3B+. There are many SBCs, I think the OdroidC2 and Tinkerboard and NanoPI M4 are all interesting but I have not used them.

Case + Heatsink and fan $25 - $30 There are other cases Argon One, SuperPI Retroflag, many others, some bundles heatsink and fan are necessary for the rpi3b+. The retroflag controllers are not preferred.

Power Supply $15 or official raspberry pi power supply.

MicroSD $10

Controllers $15 - $35 There are a lot of options here, recycle your PS3 or XBOX360 controller, Buy a corded Ibuffalo Snes, 8bitdo SF30, logitech, retro-bit/retrolink n64. I think only the RPI3B+ and RPI Zero W have bluetooth, else an adapter is needed.

Total $75 - $130

$50 (zero W + microsd + psu) + all the parts for building a gameboy zero

If you are looking for cheap-but-decent, grab the Logitech Gamepad F310. There is a wireless version too. I have one of these I keep in my laptop bag for those odd playing emulator days, definitely can tell it's cheap but it is very good for it's price considering controllers in that price range.

I personally use the DualShock 3. Battery lasts longer than the DS4, and I prefer the button layout than the 360 or One controllers. Don't install that motion software for it though, it's basically a trojan. I use SCP for my DS3.

GamKlip + PS3 Controller + Sixaxis Controller APK + Console Emulators = Portable multi-platform gaming console

NOTE: You will need root access for the wireless PS3 controller to work. I think there's a wired capability though.

u/bhowson28 · 2 pointsr/assassinscreed

That makes sense. But if you want a controller, amazon usually has them for pretty cheap.

I got a genuine one from Amazon here. I bought from the seller named stores123, but you can also buy directly from Amazon (but it's back ordered right now).

Just be sure to make sure everything is good when it arrives, and send it back to Amazon if it isn't. Amazon handles returns really well.

u/King_Icewind · 1 pointr/gaming

It's the trigger for shooting. How are you able to play any game? Lol. Here's a like new DS3 for $22 shipped: http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0015AARJI/ref=dp_olp_all_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=all

u/yacchi2 · 1 pointr/ffxiv

The link you show isn't sold by Amazon. It's "Sold by Direct Distributor and Fulfilled by Amazon."
It has to be shipped and sold by Amazon.com

EDIT: If you see to the right where there's other seller options, you can find one that's sold by Amazon.com. That one is eligible.

Looks pretty legit :/

I highly suggest getting a first party one, myself. I've owned a lot of third party controllers, and they're inexpensive because they're cheaply made.

Recently Amazon's "Warehouse Deals" outlet has been selling used DS3's in good condition or better for ~$10. They tend to sell out quickly, but I picked one up the last time they were in stock (about a week ago) and it worked out well. Even if it doesn't, Amazon supports Warehouse Deals so you can just return it. Browse the used list and watch for "Amazon Warehouse Deals" as a seller on there.

Beyond that I'd probably suggest buying used only where you trust the retailer and/or they have a solid return policy. There are a LOT of fakes out there...

Amazon sells it for 45 bux which is a lot cheaper then getting it in a store for sixty. When my niece (who was two at the time) decided to put my PS3 controller in the launrdy machine, Igot my replacement controller at amazon at this discount.

> If the controller didn't have these obnoxious lights and the touch pad (which I could live without) the controllers could be so much cheaper.

I'm callin' bullshit. PS3 controllers are still $50 on Amazon. PS3 controllers were also $60/$55 for years.

I have a standard Sony PlayStation 3 Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller (Black). This should be sold at most any game / electronics store. You may want to pick up or borrow a Xbox 360 controller, I don't have one to test and its probably the other most commonly used non-ouya controller out there (no stats, just an assumption).

Or check the gamestop website or ask an associate to check web in store or inventory at other stores.

Just depends on the store and what's been traded in. Like my store probably has about 10

I'd sell you one if I hadn't traded them all in awhile ago.

Look at the area around the buttons, and then compare it to the real deal.

A good fake, but a fake nonetheless.

I really like my DS3 with a bluetooth adapter and this: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-XInput-Wrapper-for-DS3-and-Play-com-USB-Dual-DS2-Controller

You can add up to 4 controllers, but you won't be able to use your bluetooth adapter for something else. You can alternatively use it with a normal mini USB cord.

Here's a link to the DS3: http://smile.amazon.com/PlayStation-Dualshock-Wireless-Controller-Black-3/dp/B0015AARJI Sometimes the colors are cheaper than black (blue is currently the cheapest color)

The PS3 Dualshock3 works right out of the box in Mac OS X. It's bluetooth and is awesome.

u/Seiksae · 0 pointsr/PS3

Here are three sellers on Amazon (US) that are selling new PS3 controllers.

u/CatacombSkeleton · 0 pointsr/ffxiv

Can you link to the page you bought it from or something? Because I'm seeing nothing.

And there is one being sold by AmaOn directly too. Not sure why it's not eligible
