I like how some people wonder why the Vita failed so catastrophically like it was some great mystery and not completely obvious. It was because of Sony's greedy proprietary bullshit.

That 64GB card also costs $100. But thank God Sony is such a consumer friendly company!

Not sure where you're buying your MicroSD cards or your Vita cards, but I can get a 64gb MicroSD for about £33, and a 64gb Vita card for £85.

I'm not sure what that says for your micro sd prices. I can get almost two 64gb micro sd for the price of one vita 64gb.

It did better in Japan than America, but to my knowledge it didn't do "well". I love my Vita. I think it's a great little machine, especially since like visual novels. I just know that I have to pick and choose which games to have installed at any given time because there's no way I'm buying another memory card. It's actually worse than I thought it was.

I've been watching it for a while on amazon and it seems to float between $115-130 usually. Half the time shipping from Japan. According to camelcamelcamel it was $100 http://camelcamelcamel.com/PlayStation-Vita-Memory-Card-64GB-PCH-Z641J/product/B00F27JGVA but as you can tell it's still a low price at $108.

You may be able to get it from Japan on ebay for $90-100 but then you have the long wait and you can't return it easily if there's an issue.

Sony also said recently they have no plans to lower the prices and had no comment on a 64gb US release. Suffice to say might as well take the plunge. Especially when the 32gb is $80-90.

It's not region locked. it'll work in any vita.

I’ve heard the vita won’t take in any other memory card that’s not by Sony.

In terms of games, i would recommend Persona 4 (JRPG), Fata Morgana (Visual Novel), Salt and Sanctuary (it’s like Dark Souls’s mechanics), Dangan Ronpa series (Visual Novel), The Nonary Games (Visual Novel + Puzzle/Mystery game. It’s like a game where you’re given puzzles and you figure it out), Dragon’s Crown (RPG)

I think they complain about the prices too. I went looking on Amazon. The first review when translated with Google says "you will want 64GB, but the price is high."

The dollar is so strong against the yen right now that the effective price on Amazon Japan is $69. They won't ship it outside of Japan, but if you use a forwarder like Tenso the shipping should be about $5, making it $74 total.

You're off by a factor of two. A 64GB card goes for $91 on Amazon. Which is still at least twice what it should be, but not quite as bad as you make out.

So you are looking at a Vita... Look for a bundle one on black Friday, amazon has had great psvita bundles in the past. or buy them used! however used vitas have been known to have bad screens

also Factor in the 64gb Sony card for it as well. (amazon is easiest place to find it) however there is cheaper locations but the sites are normally not in English.... Play-asia.com and yesasia.com... I personally got mine off a guy in japan from /r/vita when they first came out however back then they where around $200 on amazon.

-Vita was originally a flop when it came out, not because it was a terrible system but the lack of need/want for one since Nintendo owns the market on handhelds.
Once ps4 hit, it started taking off. sadly now sony can't reach the demand as well.

It really is a great handheld I'm happy Sony has started to challenge Ninendo's Gameboy.

From my experience, Hori and dreamGear are really good products.

i read that the pdp trigger grip was a flawed accessory and got alot of negative reviews regarding the triggers not work half the time. So i'd avoid it till pdp comes out with a better design or you find something better.

Bought this one, again not the cheapest but ease of Amazon stores did it for me. No problems at all, delivery was pretty quick. Not sure how it'll be to Europe but I imagine there'll be few problems.

On a semi-related note it surprised me how quick I filled it up! But now my Vita has 5 pages of Vita games… absolute beast!

Edit: My mistake. I shouldn't have used the term M2. I was referring to the memory card that Vita's used, which is roughly the same size as M2 save for the cutouts. I only have an 8GB Vita Memory card for my PCH-2000. I just always thought they were the same, being the same size as M2 and all. Now I know the pins are different and found out that no one has been able to directly connect an SD, MicroSD, MagicGate, Pro Duo, or M2 to a Vita using a dev board adapter. Apparently there's encryption or something preventing the other standardized cards from working with the dev board adapter. Regardless, I brought it up because I wanted to do a similar mod to a Vita TV to get a MS Pro Duo adapter connected to the Vita Memory card slot. I did a similar mod to a PSP Go to connect a MS Pro Duo adapter years ago. The pinout and ways they communicate are different, which I now know, but at least the Vita memory cards have all the same pins as M2, just in a different order. Guess I will have to make my own dev board and play around a bit as well.

They aren't distributed in the US. The biggest card you can get here is 32GB. I just went on Amazon and grabbed one from Japan. Vita isn't region locked, so cards from anywhere in the world should work.
