If you have access to a 3D printer, I recommend this one.

It's compatible with this qi charger. This is what I've been using for the past 4-5 months. It's a great little dock.

Works just as well for half the price:

Some kind of basic case (main point being: cover the back) + wireless charging converter + wireless charger

Use those on my phone, awesome. Never have to mess with the port.

I have the Verizon G3, and the first thing I did was get the Quick Circle case and two of these and while it took a few days to get used to the case's cover (I'd never had a case with a cover), I really enjoy having the wireless charging.
I have a charger on the nightstand, and a charger at work, and they both work very well. The one thing that I will comment about this particular charger is that it beeps every time the phone starts charging, which means that it will beep multiple times in the middle of the night as the phone fluctuates between fully charged and charging (phones do this to prevent battery damage while charging for extended periods). Quite annoying until I read that you could open the charger puck and uncover the little "beeper" and remove the little metal plate that generates the sound, and no more beeping!

TL;DR - I highly recommend wireless charging.

I have this one and it works wonderfully http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F6SQ1D6/ref=oh_details_o04_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

there are cheaper options though, but I would read some reviews to make sure those chargers are reliable.

I believe third party Qi charger works, like this one, while waiting for the replacement to come in:

Cheap and very popular. I have the same one, though I am still waiting for my watch too actually arrive. Will be using this for travel.

Btw, who gave you the run around? Motorola or Google Play?

I have a Ringke Fusion (this one, to be precise), and it works with the two chargers I've tried it with. Those are the Nokia charger and a PowerBot charger which I think is the same as the colorful circular one they show on that site (just rebranded, I think).

The PowerBot also works great with the Nexus 4 (in its own Ringke case), FWIW.
