I'd typically not recommend a (non-arcade) retail metal pad as I have consistently heard that they cannot sustain use from anyone over ~90 lbs as the metal is not thick enough and will bend. Further, based on your description, I think it is the DDR Game Tournament Metal Pad. These are well-known to not be worth the cost. Link Link
Custom metal pads are a different story, though I don't think you can purchase any at this time.
