Actually this strikes a nerve with me.
It used to be Gay and Lesbian, and GLB. The reason for this was to represent those with non-hetero relationships and sexual orientation.
The T and Q components somehow got added in, but they're about identity and not orientation. IMO, it really dilutes the movement to the point of ridiculousness.
For example what does "queering fat embodiment" have to do with persons who have been struggling with their attraction to persons of the same sex?
If someone who is coming out attempts to join a LGBTQ+ group, will their struggles be coopted for someone else's political goals?
