I am a bit bigger than 35mm and had the same problem with most off-the-shelf cages. Most cages a tried that are over 32mm were too long for me (I'm a grower). I eventually found this one. The perfect length for me and a 35mm diameter cage:

I could wear it long term and it was pretty comfortable, but even it was a bit smaller than I wanted.
