If ya can spare some cash, look into the Razer Naga or other MMO mice - they usually come with up to 12 buttons where the thumb rests. Those 12 can be either mapped to the numbers on the numpad or the normal ones.

When using numpad mapping, you'll still have additional easy access to 1-4 and you can bind plenty of stuff.

Note however that SHIFT + Numpad5 does not exist.

It would be awesome if we could all afford a $90 mouse, but that's just not feasible for some people. Especially people who might be on a limited budget.

I have three horizontal bars, with mini vertical and horizontal bars surrounding it. I use a Razer Naga mouse with 12 buttons on the side. You don't HAVE to use them.. but it really helps.

I would suggest looking in to a Razer Naga. With the 12 buttons on the side and add in Shift/ CRTL, that is 36 abilities you can fire off in less then a sec. You will see mixed reviews about the Naga (like SWTOR) from people who love it (like me) or think it is a complete garbage and will break in 1 week.

I've had mine since a little after launch (2 years) and would have to stop Ranked PVP and NiM PVE if mine broke, that is how useful this mouse is to me.

Lower the sensitivity of the mouse in game settings. the act of pressing the left mouse button with your index finger can cause your hand to move the mouse and a high sensitivity fucks you. This is a good tip for all fps games with a mouse and keyboard.

Also in bf4. Make sure that you do not fire your weapon until the animation of you looking down your scope is finished. If you start to fire as you are bringing the scope up. The game still thinks you are in hipfire mode. Fully bring up the scope before firing. Also make sure you disabled the FOV scaling feature, it's on by default.

I also own these things. I am not sure how I managed to play PC games for as long as I have without these. Worth every penny.

I've been using the Corsair Vengeance K90. It is a beautiful keyboard, very responsive, fast, and low-pressure pressing required. It also has a large number of macros, and looks cool to boot.

For a mouse, I would recommend either a Razer Death Adder if you do not plan on using macros, a Razer Naga if you do use macros (I personally use them as the numbers for ward placements and actives on items). Some people also prefer Logitech, for which I would recommend the G600 or the G9X, and still others prefer Mad Catz Cyborg or Corsair M95 or Corsair M65.

You definitely need to make sure the mice are comfortable first though.

just bought one of these today for 62$ on amazon with free 2 day shipping with amazon prime.

I spent about 4 hours researching and debating. And here were my main findings. (Note: amazon links ahead) It came down between the Logitech g600 and the Razer Naga / Razer Naga Molten. I really wanted to buy the razer naga molten because it looked the coolest of the three to me. I ruled out the basic razer naga is that the 2012 and 2013 versions only come in emerald green (one of my least favorite colors) which is a minute contention but it was a big enough thing to make me look at other options. When it came down to it I went for durability, economical value, and the most amount of buttons where I found the g600 to be the most superior. Here is the video that pretty much sold me on the g600 from youtube. As well a job as they do in the vid, I feel the speakers are biased towards the g600, but they still provide enough info and personal experience that I don't have to sway my own opinion. Great video review, and I highly advise if you are going to buy a new mmo gaming mouse to shoot for either the g600 or one of the three current models of the razer naga (my vote for the basic version, especially if you can find a 2011 blue version). Another more economy valued alternative is the anker 8000 dpi high precision gaming mouse, which has a total of 9 buttons and great value for the sweet piece of tech you're getting, not even mentioning its very ergonomic shape. Hope this helps. Please note that all the amazon links are to different vendors and I have no affiliation to any of them. Good luck!

edit: fixed links

Oh! This is my favorite then!

These are the two mouses I would suggest. I have the Razer Naga but I got it before the Logitech G600 came out. Logitech has a very good track record so that may be the better way to go but do your research.

Edit: Quick grammar question. When it comes to the word mouse in plural form, but you are talking about a computer mouse and not the animal, would it be mouses or mice?

I use this mouse https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-MMO-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B007VPZR5U

I'm not sure, but it seems like it's not that comfortable.
I'm a half-claw user by the way. Not palm, not Claw.

Here is a 1080p @ 60hz IPS monitor with low response time (US$130): http://pcpartpicker.com/part/acer-monitor-umwh6aa002

I would get two of those, but there are other options if you want to look around.

For a headset, pick your favorite from any 'top list', like this one: http://www.digitaltrends.com/best-gaming-headsets/

For a keyboard, there are two tiers: mechanical and non. Mechanical are much more expensive, but feel better. Otherwise, everything is the same, just some have pretty LEDs.

Basic, laptop style: Rosewill Slim

Basic, standard: Logitech K120

Gaming, backlit: Logitech G105

Gaming, LED: MS Sidewinder X4

Mechanical: Cooler Master Storm Quickfire

You can also search this list: http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/keyboard/#sort=d5

For a mouse, I highly recommend the Razer Naga if you will be doing any MMOs: http://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-MMO-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B007VPZR5U

Otherwise, one is as good as another, if they are wired. Wireless mice are fine, but introduce a small amount of input lag.

u/Kipawa · 1 pointr/elderscrollsonline

If you have some spare money, I highly suggest purchasing the Razer Naga. I absolutely cannot play ANY game without it.

You can get the earlier generation Naga's for a couple bucks cheaper.

u/Dubzil · 1 pointr/gaming

I use a logitec g500 mouse, it's pretty good, but for MMOs I really loved the Razer Naga for all of the extra buttons.

Keyboard wise, I would go mechanical, it'll cost you probably $100, but it's worth it. you will want to research mechanical and get the right kind of switch for what you prefer.

I've had both a Razer Naga and a Logitech g600.

  1. My first Razer Naga was a "first generation" Naga I bought in Feb 2010. About a year later I was having some issues with the left click but I was able to fix it by fixing a notch that had worn in the clicking lever. Around another year and it started double or triple clicking when I single clicked. I tried many fixes I saw on the internet for this, but I never got a fix for it. I used it for another 3 months before replacing it. Overall it lasted me 2.5 years (Feb 2010-Oct 2012). I never had any issues with the side buttons.
  2. I owned a Razer Lycosa as well, which was the worst keyboard I have ever owned. So I decided to replace it with a Logitech G600 since both my Razers were performing poorly. I never really warmed up to the G600. I had two main issues with it.
  3. The scroll wheel press required significantly more force to press than the Naga. This was a deal breaker for me.
  4. I think my side-board was faulty. The (8) button was very difficult to press compared to the rest on the side. It also didn't register a click with the tactile click like the rest did. I needed to press it beyond the tactile point for the click to register.

  5. I returned the G600 and bought a Naga 2012. So far it has served me well without any issues. I'm hoping that Razer has upped their durability in the newer models. Either way, if mine started to die I would just buy a new Naga. I can't game without it. (Oct 2012-Current)

Naga

This, but in blue. The buttons on the side are great for any game with a tool bar, or lots of keybinds. I play a lot of those, so I've never looked back. Main gripes are that, after 2 years or so of consecutive use, dust accumulates on the left mouse switch and you have to clean it off to get it working again. Otherwise you'll have instances of double, triple, and quadruple clicking by accident, not clicking at all, and other, hellish dysfunctions. Not that it's hard to clean. I still love the mouse, despite that defect.

Nostromo 52te

Razer Naga

With that combo, I don't actually need to use my keyboard in a game. I use this as my keyboard since I don't need a gaming keyboard

u/amcdon · 0 pointsr/gaming

Just get the Razer Naga.
