Sure thing! Step-by-step, comin' at you.

  1. Make sure area is clean and dry. Put face moisturizer on it and let it soak in.
  2. Put primer on, not just on the marks but all over the area. This is actually an important step because sweat and clothing are going to be working against you all day so having primer on there will help the makeup adhere to your skin mo' betta. And it'll just look smoother.
  3. Put a color-correcting concealer on. I used green, but yellow would probably also work (green cancels out red tones, yellow cancels out purple). Put the color correcting concealer ONLY on the marks, not the surrounding skin (aside from a little bit of blending so the edges aren't too sharp). I used this flat foundation brush, but fingers might work as well.
  4. Put on your normal, skin-tone concealer. Apply this directly on top of the color correcting one, and also into the surrounding areas to blend it. I used this brush to stipple it on. She can look up youtube videos of how to stipple, but it's basically just bouncing the product onto your skin.
  5. Brush on a thin layer of translucent powder. This helps set the first layer of concealer so that you can pile on more layers without them muddying or blending together, since you want to create a layer effect and not a puddle of concealer. I used this powder and this brush to do so. Any translucent powder and large brush will do the trick!
  6. Repeat step #4!
  7. Then repeat step #5!
  8. Use your normal foundation and stipple brush for a final layer that should be pretty seamless with the rest of your skin.
  9. I chose to do a final layer of translucent powder, but that's because I live in Southern California and it's hot and I need to be prepared for the gym. I'm sweating a lot of the time. She could probably go without.

    Good luck!

I use this real techniques brush. I recommend cleaning it often so it properly buffs the foundation. I really like this one verses their actual "foundation brush"

the second set is more expensive because it has far more brushes, and believe me, like artists brushes, makeup brushes can set you back a pretty penny, if you want to go all out.

I have a set of Real Techniques and I do like them a lot, so I'd go with them, especially if she's mentioned them, If you want to get a little crazy get here these two things to go along with the brushes, they're for cleaning purposes:

[Brush Cleaner] (http://www.amazon.com/Coastal-Scents-Makeup-Shampoo-Cleanser/dp/B00ED6FV5G/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1417813820&sr=8-16&keywords=makeup+brush+cleaner)

[brush guards - used to keep brushes in shape and for drying, after cleaning] (http://www.amazon.com/Easygoby-Makeup-Cosmetic-Netting-Protector/dp/B00BSPVDE8/ref=sr_1_14?ie=UTF8&qid=1417813923&sr=8-14&keywords=makeup+brush+cleaner)

ALSO, here are more items to add to the Real Techniques set

[stippling brush] (http://www.amazon.com/Real-Techniques-RLT-1408-Stippling-Brush/dp/B004TSFE6Y/ref=pd_sim_bt_4?ie=UTF8&refRID=0Y62RVEG9G08C9179CYC)

[this page has options for different combos of the brushes] (http://www.amazon.com/Real-Techniques-Collection-Starter-Essentials/dp/B00OP2OU00/ref=pd_sbs_bt_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=0BSTZ51PMTQS05C1RN9X)

You can trust me, I have a stipple brush on my wish list, and I'll use it to...stipple my face with foundation :D thanks for the contest!

Codename Duchess!

I literally made a separate Add-On list with all my wanted SFW add-ons, then played with numbers until I reached the total of as close to $25 as I could come with the things I wanted the most... I ended up reaching $25.11. (I wanted to stay right at, or BARELY over!!) I started out by marking all of my BIG wants as "high priority", then started playing with numbers to come up with my actual list for the contest. I marked each of those items as "highest priority"... so, my list is:

  • an Elspeth MTG deck box

  • concealer because I don't have a good one... even out of ALL the makeup I do own. LoL

  • the good Blistex for when the weather is reaking havoc on these sultry lips o' mine

  • the make up brush that I will be having an affair with, to the dismay of my other brushes.

  • and lastly, back to my nerdy MTG habbit... some bad ass girlie pink Monster dice!

I would have done this sooner, but I received some bad news and spent some wallowing time... Thank you for hosting. Participating and playing around with Amazon gave me the distraction I needed, and I feel clearer headed and more accepting of the news I got tonight. <3

Thanks for hosting! junkyard dogs

What is your favorite drugstore makeup brand overall? Physician's formula for sure!

What are your favorite face, cheek and lip products? Face is physicians formula, their concealer stick has great coverage and I feel like it's not gonna burn my face off or anything. I also like the physican's formula shimmer strips for the cheeks, and I AM IN LOVE with the Almay Liquid Lipbalms - I want them ALL!!

Least favorite product? Covergirl eyes shadows have never been the best, and I honestly don't get the wet and wild love a lot of ladies here have. I've tried most of it - and it's not great to me.

What is the best makeup bargain? It's a toss up between clump crusher and Yes to Blueberries facial wipes. Those are my FAVORITE make up wipes and they're some how magically hydrating too. But clump crusher is just as good if not better than a $20+ mascara - so that's a real bargain.

What is your favorite underdog product? (Something you love that often gets overlooked?) That's a good question! I honestly think the Almay Liquid Lipbalms get overlooked - even though they're so new. As soon as I tried one I was SURE they'd be the next Revlon Lip Butter, Clump Crusher, etc. but they haven't caught on like I thought they would. But I'm probably just unique cause I have a THING for color saturated lip balms.

A drugstore product that is overpriced? Revlon Lip Butters! I tried them, they're pretty good, but $7-$10? No.

Show your best drugstore dupe(s)!! Elf always has the BEST dupes. Like, down to the packaging. Their blush bronzer duo is an exact dupe of the Orgasm/Laguna duo for Nars.

Drugstore product that isn't worth the hype? Color tattoos. Sorry guys, I don't get it.

What is the item you most want to try from the Drugstore? I've been dying to try Essie's apricot nail treatment - but I feel weird spending $8 on it! The package is so pretty and my nails always need help!

What item would you want from your wishlist? This guy!

This is awesome! Also unless it took me forever to type this I think I'm the first person to enter! Thanks for the contest summer! :) :) :)

Also I Heart Drugstore Makeup!!

Thank you! Heart Drugstore Makeup

  1. Overall? Oh... tough! Maybe Maybelline? NYX and Mineral Essence are close seconds
  2. Revlon Colorstay Foundation in 150 buff, Mineral Essence "Innocence", and Maybelline moisture extreme in "Peach Colada"
  3. Elf eyeliners
  4. 4 Revlon/Maybelline lipsticks for a $1 each on clearance at Target
  5. Mineral Essence eyeshadows/blushes are amazingly pigmented
  6. Covergirl Natureluxe lip balm in Marble- a very overpriced pigmentless lipbalm
  7. I don't really attempt dupes since I don't have too many high end makeup. I'm sorry! :(
  8. Elf eyeshadows and brushes. They last maybe an hour on, even with great primer. The brushes are scratchy, very cheaply made, and not good at applying anything. :(
  9. Maybelline Moisture Extreme Lipstick, Royal Red #190
  10. Real Techniques Stippling Brush

Edit1: Sorry, wasn't sure if Real Techniques was drugstore or not. If it isn't, then I'd be very happy with the Maybelline Moisture Lipstick in Royal Red

Try a dual fiber stippling brush like this. It totally helps you to build up color instead of being overwhelmed by pigment.

u/faithnna · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Ima cheapskate and I've been lusting after this! I've seen such great reviews for it and the colors look amazingggg. Who doesn't need a palette that tells you exactly how to apply it?! Also a new stippling brush because they're amazing.

Thanks for doing this!

u/msronswanson · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

You're a graphic designer!? I think that is too damn cool. I wanted to do that in college but my portfolio wasn't impressive enough. I would love to see some of your work.

This and this are the products I am most lusting over right now.
