I don't think there is any good reason your first pair shouldn't be high quality. Look into Red Wings vibram sole options, I have Iron Rangers but I really want a 6 inch moc toe with a vibram sole.
Im honestly not sure, picked them up at a thrift store years ago. I think they might be Kenneth Cole? They're good beaters but I honestly wouldn't suggest them if you're looking for a new boot. I'd suggest something like, Wolverines, Red Wings,Doc Martens, or Chippewas depending on your budget and style you're looking for.

Red Wing 875 should hold up if you're just driving. Just like athletic shoes, the practicality really outweighs the aesthetic value: it would probably be better to get well made, comfortable yet ugly workboots than to get pretty ones you'll wear out fast.
