Judging from your replies in this thread, you dont like TVS gold, which is a very good budget mechanical keyboard with good keys. So lets consider other options.

First, you need to be specific. At this price point you need to sacrifice one thing for another. If you want looks you probably cant have mechanical aspect. If you want mechanical then you cant have looks. Most people buy mechanical keyboard because of the "Mechanical Keys" and not for the looks anyways.

Anyways, this are the keyboards you might want to check out as they are closer to your budget but not of "good" quality (both of these are knockoffs)

Cosmic Byte CB-GK-07

Zebronics Max

And if you want the "looks" keyboard without the mechanical aspect then

Redragon Karura (chiclet keys)

Circle Adroit X7C

Also note this out that even if this keyboards are not mechanical that dosent mean they are "bad". Mechanical is considered superior and favoured by most because of its accuracy and durability. But many people also prefer mushy keys like chiclet or hybrid keys.

The term you're looking for is "chicklet keyboard", I'd recommend this one

I bought this a couple months ago and it has been wonderful. No crazy features or horrible software.

When I was searching for keyboards there was basically no info on chiclet/island keyboards.

It has a built in battery and only came with one coil. Keyboard

This keyboard should be perfect for you

Sorry about it formatting I am on mobile and don't really feel like dealing with it lol

(I hope it is fine that we're talking about keyboards now in a mice subreddit)

This is the keyboard in question right now. My friend enjoys it, I like flat keys, and this review is very positive.

The CM Storm Quickfire that I saw after searching were a bit expensive, and though I know mechanical keyboards and tall keys are popular, I don't know about them myself. I do know that I like flat keys though. The keyboard I am typing on right now (that is old, with messed up keys) looks like this, just wired. This is the keyboard on my parents' computer (if I remember correctly) and whenever I have used it while helping them I enjoyed it (especially over this old one).

Since you said keyboards are forgiving compared to cheap mice, the reviews are positive, and my friend enjoys his, I'm probably gonna stick with this.

Again, thanks for all of the info and help!

It's really up to you what you want to use, I personally use both.
I can recommend to you some boards that have the singular RGB color options in their software, but since you're buying a membrane individual RGB usually isn't much an option.
Here are a few recommendations though.

As far as membrane boards go though, I use a few I can list off for you.
HyperX Alloy Core: https://www.amazon.com/HyperX-Alloy-Core-RGB-Comfortable/dp/B07HRNKTCM/ref=sr_1_2?crid=9PY2SHEHJTQZ&keywords=membrane+keyboard+60&qid=1569183969&s=videogames&sprefix=membrane+%2Cvideogames%2C150&sr=1-2
This is an all time favorite of mine simply for its ease of use and no frills, no mechanical switches but it has the RGB you're looking for.
The keycaps this uses are something you'll have to learn to get used to but otherwise this is a nice purchase.

Redragon K502 RGB Chiclet: https://www.amazon.com/Redragon-K502-Keyboard-Illuminated-Improved/dp/B00LSGKEC4/ref=sr_1_4?crid=9PY2SHEHJTQZ&keywords=membrane+keyboard+60&qid=1569184039&s=videogames&sprefix=membrane+%2Cvideogames%2C150&sr=1-4
Probably my most favorite board if you're into the simplistic look.
The RGB on this board doesn't blast through the keys offensively, it's more subtle and clean looking.
The typing experience is different and can be hit or miss depending on your typing style. If you thump the keys or hit them hard and fast you may wanna look at another board, but this is still an option if you're willing to take the time to get used to it.

NPET G11 87%: https://www.amazon.com/NPET-Keyboard-G10-Professional-Compatible/dp/B078754DCK/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=membrane+keyboard&qid=1569184333&s=videogames&sr=1-6
This is a cheap board but it's also one of the nicer boards I own that offers RGB and isn't going to wreck the wallet.
If you want more desk space and you like the look of some of the mechanical keyboards out there, this is one fantastic option as it offers more than what other membrane boards can offer and should have RGB settings that range in between one solid color to tessellation effects.

Again, hopefully this helps you find something.

Crazy build man. Awesome, but crazy! You and I have the same mouse!

Question: Do you know of any keyboards like the DeathStalker that have white and/or blue lights instead of green? I love chiclet keyboards, but I can't find a full chiclet keyboard of similar quality that has the right backlights. I ended up going with the Redragon Karura which is great for lights, media controls, and a chiclet experience, but the typing kind of sucks. Like kind of really sucks; no scissor keys, and the keys feel like they need lubed in order to work right. Any tips would be much appreciated.

Either way that's a phenomenal setup.

Found some on your budget Logitech 4 stars, Redragon 4 stars, Cougar 4stars, Langtu 5!?! stars, Azio 4.5 stars.
My opinion on them is this:
Even tho the Logitech is only famous brand its the worse because its wireless and has a very short lifespan.
The Redragon have stiff keys hard to press and takes time to get used to it.
Becareful with Cougar near CTRL is an extra key... If you are an aggressive typewriter will have no problem with some keys being harder than usual to push.
Langtu is a surprise with metal panel and silent even tho it feels mechanical I haven't found anything con on it.

Azio is great if your eyes are bad, but the keys wear out fast and and if you are a fast typewriter you might find more problems with it.

Though you should get a mechanical keyboard, there is one just like it.

Before I found out about CSGO and got it, I wanted my pc setup to have a certain color scheme, black and red.

Mouse : Redragon M601 CENTROPHORUS-2000 DPI Gaming Mouse ; Cheap and I believe that it is worth the price, I'm not pro after all. (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00HTK1NCS/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Keyboard : Redragon Karura K502 USB Gaming Keyboard, fits the scheme. (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00LSGKEC4/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I'm looking to upgrade my Redragon Karura to something better. My budget is about $50 USD, but I am willing to go up to $60 if the quality justifies the price... Any help is much appreciated.

Also looking for something quieter. No super loud keyboards..

u/Chromebookarthur · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

I had this keyboard. Looks pretty similar, right?

u/Clessiah · 1 pointr/keyboards

There are other alternatives than just chiclets if all you ask for is being quiet (pretty much any non-mechanical keyboard can be your option).

There's this one that's suspiciously similar to DeathStalker but much cheaper.

I'm not the best judge for this, but to me, something like this is "good enough" until you can save up some money and get a nice mechanical keyboard. I usually just go with whats cheap and has the best reviews as far as keyboards when I'm on a budget. The nice feel of a keyboard doesn't make up for sub 60 (maybe even 30, haven't looked at benchmarks) fps in AAA games.

u/LizardKweef · 1 pointr/buildapc

I have used this for a while since I was also used to gaming on a laptop but I eventually switched to a mechanical and now I wouldn't change back tbh.
