Shilling the Reebok Men's Crossfit Lite TR Training shoe. I can really spread my toes and not slide getting into a deadlift. They're really secure for squatting, too, plus you can use them for many other things!

I compete in powerlifting and when you squat or pull you are basically looking for a minimalist shoe with ankle support. Wide toe box, 0 drop and high top. Full retail they are expensive but you can find them on sale on amazon and if you have a reebok outlet around you can buy them for $40.

I've also skated in NB Minimus Trails and they blow my ankles up.
