Yes absolutely do that. I keep all of mine in rigid plastic holders similar to baseball card sleeves.

They’re made of pvc which some people claim can leak chemicals onto the bills, but the manufacturer claims it’s high quality pvc and will do no such thing. I’ve used them for years and seen no visible damage occurring. If you’re going with glass that’s even better
