I used http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BQRQ8C and it worked WONDERS. I bought 3 of them and used them in 1 month intervals. Killed hundreds :)

I put two about 100 feet away from the house in opposite directions to drive them away. Put it away from the house so that it doesn't attract them towards it but if you have a unique problem you might need to improvise. Buy 5 and use them simultaneously to never see another living fly again.

I'm a licensed exterminator. Your safest, easiest and cheapest bet (aside from doing nothing) is to buy one of these and hang it outside. They are effective for quite an area, so don't hang it too close to your house or other areas people hang out. The attractant does have a scent.

They're just flies. It's a very small, manageable problem. Take the easy road, it works. I sold a ton of these things. Super simple.
