I want to add to this. There is a precedent for imitation products, but you're right about it being one that specifically encourages piracy.

Old game consoles get remade, but you're still expected to have the cartridge to play.

Something else that would concern me is it looks like he may have weaved official Gamecube hardware into his product. I skimmed through the post and he didn't appear to say anything about it, but I feel like if he was trying to make this a thing it would be better for him to manufacture all his own parts. ripping a generic wire out of the console is a little different than using a port Nintendo specifically designed. I don't know. There's such a large battle between what's fair and not that it really is hard to tell these days.

Try this as a replacement. It's even a SNES. Plus side is that it's a top loader even for the NES carts, which is WAY better than the side loader for the NES as you shouldn't have nearly as many problems getting the game to work.

You can find something like this which can play games. It isn't too expensive.

Games can run expensive. I would suggest searching at used game stores before amazon.

Sounds great but why didn't you just go out and buy something like this for a few more bucks. Unless, you were just bored and wanted a new hobby to kill time.

You should get one of these, it's play both. and reviews look ok.

This would be a relatively inexpensive hobby. The cheaper ones on eBay are usually cheap just because of the chassis's condition. So if you can pull the parts out of a $40 SNES that's all grey and scratched to hell, it's all good.


Or you could even use the internal parts from a new clone console.
