Look at getting a clear ring sizer like these :

She could use it for the day of on the bottom and only people that see the bottom of her hand would ever know. It’s a cheap alternative and would not damage the ring. If not build up some hot glue on the bottom to make something more fitted. The glue will peel off the ring as well and you can mold / cut it as needed.

Oh, I might have been unclear - I definitely don't want to pay to resize it again, so I'm looking at adjusters, like these. Looking forward to seeing how dramatic the change is when I hit my goal weight and have it properly resized :)

And thank you! I'm trying to remember that the benefits of losing weight will eventually outweigh the annoying bits I'm dealing with now.

They actually sell inserts for rings to adjust the size without having to get the ring resized: https://www.amazon.com/Ring-Snuggies-Original-Adjusters-Assorted/dp/B0014DGXU8
Maybe you could try that until you reach your goal weight and know for sure whether your fingers will get any thinner.

these work pretty well

They make ring spacers that will let you continue to wear the old ring until you either hit a stable weight and can get it re-sized or decide on something new.

It's a good plan to wait. I've got like 15 lbs I want to lose and it's the same thing for me. I may get one of these for the time being though.

I used something like this for a while: Ring Snuggies. It was kind of annoying at first, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I didn't want to get my ring totally resized until hitting my goal weight, so this makes a good temporary solution.

You could try ring fitters or whatever they're called. It's just a little piece of plastic that fits inside of a ring to make it tighter.

Here

I sometimes use the cushioned medical tape on the inside of the ring to make mine tighter or I have been thinking of getting some of these:

Get a ring sizer. You can get little plastic ones or the better option is the metal one's that clamp to the ring. here are the plastic ones- i find them uncomfortable ...and the metal kinds, which I would personally prefer

If it helps, I think a 6 is standard. I have tiny hands though and my size turned out to be a 4.75.

Resizing is surprisingly cheap. My local grocery has a jewelry store in it (Kroger - Fred Meyer) and they charge about $50 for resizing. If you buy at a jewelry store instead of online, resizing should be free with the purchase.

Plus, you can always buy a cheap plastic ring guard so she can wear it immediately even if it's too big.

However, being the cheap bastard that I am I think I'll try a piece of clear tubing (think aquarium pump tubing). Cut to length, split it and voila! Might have to super glue it for retention...

These are lifesavers for rings. I too lost a lot of weight but I still wanted my rings. I find that on amazon I usually buy less random crap than I do on ebay, even though I spend less money on ebay.

Something like [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Ring-Snuggies-Original-Adjusters-Assorted/dp/B0014DGXU8) might work (though I've never tried them myself). It's a clear rubber tube that attaches to the underside of the band to add some thickness in one area. For really cheap rings I've also wrapped thread around the band in one spot and glued it down, though that's not really a professional solution.

This is what I have, an assortment, works great!

I'm in the same boat. Congrats on the weight loss, btw!

  1. Here's some inexpensive plastic versions. I've used variations of these in the past. Cheap and no tools required, but looks a little tackier than the metal ones (but who's looking at the ventral side of your ring?)

    Coil style

    Clippy style

    Tube style

  2. Since it's a band and doesn't have a top side, stacking rings are an "in" look right now. You usually size up 1/2 to 1 size for stacking rings anyway, so you can stack some inexpensive rings in the same size or slightly smaller to keep your band from falling off.

Warning: stacking rings will wear against each other. So this is a short term solution not a permanent one.

I used something like this on mine. I ended up having to get a new wedding band and wearing the original on my right hand because it's an heirloom and I don't want to size it down any further (already decreased it by something like four sizes when I got it). I got my engagement ring resized, though.

I wonder if one of these could go into the hollow part?
