But ordered the pencil version. They are pretty cool. My pen is on the way and I’m super excited for it.
Rotring Ballpoint
The Pilot Metropolitan Rollerball Gel pen uses a G2 refill. They're $10-13 depending on where you look. I have a Rotring Rapid Pro and really love it. I'm generally not a ballpoint fan, but this one is awesome. It has a nice weight to it, feels really sturdy, and has a smooth nock mechanism. It's $23 on Amazon right now. It also takes some gel refills if you prefer that.
Rotring Rapid PRO technical drawing pen. Absolutely beautiful if you're willing to spend $50. It's the only thing I've owned where people used it and said "fuck, that's a great pen." Though I think the mechanical pencil version is more impressive.
I also really love this faber-castell pen, on the non-technical side.
The one I have was discontinued. The closest thing would be the Rotring Trio, but I also have one of those, and it's not quite as good. The multipen I have is the same design as the Rotring Rapid Pro line, which are all very good pens and pencils.
I'm close with my Rotring 600 FP, 800 mechanical pencil, and ballpoint pen. I also have the semi-matching Rotring plastic stick eraser.
I saw this post yesterday and thought, "wow they make beautiful pens." Unfortunately this isn't that model as they've been discontinued (and are now VERY expensive on ebay), but I believe this to be it's successor.
How about a Rotring Rapid Pro ballpoint. It's slim and well built.
